  1. The Candy Jar’s First Birthday Party – Wednesday, October 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Candy Jar will celebrate its first birthday with a party full of treats and fun-filled activities for attendees. Guests can enjoy birthday cake and refreshments, which will be served all day. Kids in attendance will receive a variety of party favors, and additional gifts will be given to drawing and game winners. The Candy Jar’s “Candy Fairy” will make a special appearance at the party from 4-6:00 p.m. A portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit Austin Children’s Shelter. FREE! The Candy Jar, 12700 Hill Country Blvd, Ste T-110, Bee Cave.
  2. Thinkery at the Library – Wednesday, October 1 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Youth can create electric circuits, learn to craft with redstone in Minecraft and participate in fun physics activities! The program is recommended for ages 8-14. FREE! APL – Windsor Park Branch, 5833 Westminster Dr, Austin.

Stand Up For Safe Families Paddle Parade – Wednesday, October 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Austin/Travis County Family Violence Task Force is asking the community to stand up against family and dating violence by joining the fourth annual Paddle Parade. This is a family friendly event and there will be FREE paddle board, canoe, and kayak rentals for attendees. Texas Rowing Center, 1541 W Cesar Chavez St, Austin.

Wine Down Wednesday – Wednesday, October 1 from 6-8:00 p.m. Event stations will be set up in four designated locations throughout the shopping center, each serving a different wine selection paired with small bites and live music from local Austin artists.
