Top 5 Free Things to do in Austin

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Storytime – Monday, October 31 at 10:30 a.m. This storytime will be filled with BookPeople’s favorite type of treats – new books. Storytime will feature stories full of monsters, ghosts, and witches (but none of them will be too scary). Then, after storytime, join the costume parade around the store, which ends with a free book to bring home. Perfect for witches and wizards ages 7 and under. Can’t make the storytime and parade? BookPeople will be handing out books to trick-or-treaters all day. Kids can stop by anytime on October 31st for a special Halloween treat. (While supplies last.) FREE! Starry Nights at Girlstart (RSVP) – Thursday, November 3 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Girlstart’s Mini-Planetarium is a unique space for families to explore astronomy. Literature Live! Presents The Nutcracker – Friday, November 4 at 3:30 p.m. The Nutcracker is a classic, charming tale of holiday adventure that follows a little girl’s journey through a fantasy world of fairies, princes, and an army of mice.
