Top 5 Free Things to do in Austin

Oktoberfest Accordion Concert (Pflugerville) – Tuesday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. A nonstop variety show featuring the accordion, presented by the Central Texas Accordion Association. Performers include: Lori Brooke, Larry Nickel, Rollie Revering, The Rudy-Gus Trio, M.O.V.E., Markus Baggio, Laura Niland, Joe Klaus, The Three Amigos, Chris Rybak. Sukkot Laser Tag Funday – Wednesday, October 19 from 4-7:00 p.m. Sukkot fun for the whole community. Celebrating the Festival of Huts, eat in a Sukkah, shake the lulav, make holiday crafts, schmooze, and play outdoor Laser Tag with the whole family. Admission is FREE! Food will be available for purchase. Hebrew Preperatory School, 2127 W Parmer Ln, Austin.

Halloween Carnival & Haunted House – Thursday, October 20 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Goblins and ghosts will enjoy FREE music, door prizes, games, and costume contest. Dare to enter the Metz Haunted House ($1 per person). Metz Rec Center, 2704 Canterbury St, Austin.

Texas Tip-Off (RSVP) – Thursday, October 20 at 6:00 p.m. Year two of the Shaka Smart era is here and, for the second straight season, Texas Men’s Basketball begins the year in the heart of The University of Texas campus. Join them as they continue preparation for the 2016-17 season. Claim your FREE tickets now to reserve your spot. All seating is general admission inside Gregory Gym on a first-come, first-served basis, and fans are encouraged to line up outside the gym entrance on Thursday afternoon in advance of doors opening at 6 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the doors can claim free T-shirts, courtesy of Raising Cane’s. Movies in the Park: Jurassic Park – Thursday, October 20 at 7:15 p.m. Movies in the Park is a series of free films brought to you by the Austin Parks Foundation, and presented by the #1 movie theater in America, the Alamo Drafthouse. Dogs, picnics, and lawn chairs are welcome. Rated PG-13.
