National Fossil Day Celebration – Wednesday, October 12 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. National Fossil Day is a nationwide celebration organized by the National Park Service to promote public awareness and stewardship of fossils, as well as to foster a greater appreciation of their scientific and educational values. Texas Memorial Museum will be open with FREE admission and activities. Donations accepted. Texas Memorial Museum, 2400 Trinity St, Austin.

Paramount Storytime – Wednesday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. Paramount Theatre is revving up for the upcoming production of The Man who Planted Trees with a lively reading of Dr. Seuss’s classic, The Lorax. The fun will continue with a FREE ticket drawing and a tree-themed craft. BOGO coupons for the show will also be available to attendees. Science Under the Stars: Glowing Oceans – Thursday, October 13 at 8:00 p.m. Events start at 8:00 p.m. outdoors. Arrive early for refreshments and fun activities for kids of all ages. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet – Thursday, October 13 and Friday, October 14 at 8:00 p.m. The tradition of Shakespeare in Ramsey Park continues with this new fall show. Something for Nothing Theater company produces the plays with minimal props, costumes, and lighting, focusing on storytelling and the wonderful language of Shakespeare. FREE! Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival – Friday, October 14 from 2-11:00 p.m. You’ll have the up-close and personal chance to see, hear, and get to know some very talented performers who have a deep love of the art of songwriting. Event stages are hosted by Dripping Springs’ most popular venues, all located within safe, easy walking distance of each other.
