Thanks to KXAN Morning News for sharing our picks for the Top 5 FREE Weekday Events this week!

  1. Children’s Day Art Park: The Biscuit Brothers – Wednesday, June 11 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. We’re being a bit cheeky including this one, because it’s not 100% free.  Children must pay 50¢ to attend Children’s Day Art Park (adults are FREE!). One thing Austin families can count on every summer is live music and fun galore at the weekly Children’s Day Art Park. From interaction with members of The Austin Symphony, who wander the crowds performing for children, to onstage jams by some of Austin’s most beloved children’s entertainers, it doesn’t get much better than these festive Wednesday mornings in the Symphony Square amphitheater. 50¢ per child. Adults are free. Symphony Square, 1101 Red River St, Austin.
  2. Free Admission at the Umlauf – Wednesday, June 11 – Friday, June 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Through the generous donations of our community during Amplify Austin, the museum and garden will waive admission fees all summer long. (Please note that the garden is closed on Monday and Tuesday.) FREE! Umlauf Sculpture Garden, 605 Robert E Lee Rd, Austin.
  3. Nature Nights – Thursday, June 12 from 5-8:00 p.m. Come play and learn about plants at the first Nature Nights program in the new Luci and Ian Family Garden. Bill Oliver and The Otter Space Band perform at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Play on a giant chess set. Try your luck at a ring toss. See what plant critters are at the Plant Petting Zoo. Commander Ben is bringing back his Invasive Hunter Academy to teach kids of all ages about invasive plant species. Kids can make and fly kites. Habitat hikes, a scavenger hunt, big bubbles, and more. Thanks to H-E-B, admission will be FREE all day the day of Nature Nights this summer, as well as those nights. Try to arrive early as parking is limited. FREE! Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 4801 La Crosse Ave, Austin.
  4. Movies in the Park: Monty Python and the Holy Grail – Thursday, June 12 at 8:30 p.m. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic dinner for a fun and relaxing evening under the beautiful Austin night sky. Rated PG. FREE! Republic Square Park, 422 W Guadalupe, Austin. Canceled due to the tornado watch.
