  1. Free Admission to The LBJ Presidential Library – Monday, July 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To ensure President Johnson’s wish for the library to “be available to all,” entrance fees are waived on several days during the year, including 4th of July. FREE! LBJ Presidential Library, 2313 Red River St, Austin.
  2. Austin Symphony’s July 4th Concert and Fireworks – Monday, July 4 at 8:30 p.m. Grab a picnic and a blanket and head to Vic Mathias Shores to declare your independence! The ASO will perform at 8:30 p.m., followed by “mile-high” fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m. FREE!   3. Hillside Summer Concert Series – Tuesday, July 5 from 7-9:00 p.m. Head to the hillside for free, live music every Tuesday in July. Hear live music by New Generation, Mari y Cien Grados, and Canonazo. Bring the whole family, blankets, canned drinks, and lawn chairs, but please leave glass and radios at home. FREE! A.B.   4. Sound & Cinema: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom – Wednesday, July 6 at 8:00 p.m. Sound & Cinema 2016 features unique pairings of classic movies with a diverse array of local musical guests. Each band plays a musical tribute to the night’s movie, followed by a screening of the film on the Alamo’s giant inflatable outdoor screen – all against the backdrop of the Austin skyline. This week, watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom with music by The Echocentrics. Rated PG. Food trailers will open by 6:00 p.m. with food and beverages available for purchase. The sunset concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. The movie will immediately follow (around 9:00 p.m., or right after sunset). FREE! Long Center, 701 W Riverside Dr, Austin.
  5. Penfold in the Park: Comedy of Errors – Thursday, July 7 and Friday, July 8 at 8 p.m. Admission is FREE, but donations are appreciated. The show runs about one hour and forty minutes with intermission and is recommended for middle school ages and up. No reservations are required. Just show up with a blanket or chair and enjoy free Shakespeare in the park! Round Rock Amphitheater, 301 W. Bagdad Ave, Round Rock.
