  1. Alamo Kids Camp: Annie – Monday, July 14 – Thursday, July 17. Verify showtime before heading out. All Alamo Kids Camp screenings are FREE! Tickets are available at the box office on the day of the show, and seating is first come, first served. No children under the age of 3 will be admitted (except on Baby Day, which is Tuesday, when all ages are welcome to attend). Families with loud children will be asked to leave.   2. Astronomy Night at Ruiz Branch Library – Monday, July 14, from 6 – 8 p.m. On Monday night, the Ruiz Branch Library is staying open late for a family friendly (but not family focused) adult summer reading astronomy program, Reading the Stars! During Reading The Stars, attendees will get to view the planets from inside Austin’s inflatable planetarium STAR LAB, gaze at the stars with the Austin Astronomical Society and flex their creative side while making star crafts with Recycled Reads. Then, head out onto the lawn to experience the night sky and do some stargazing. Since the sun sets later, this event will exceed the Library’s regular hours, but only outdoors. Ruiz Branch Library, 1600 Grove Blvd., Austin.

Tiny Tails to You Storytime – Wednesday, July 16 at 10:30 a.m. Friends from Tiny Tails to You will be reading stories and introducing some of the cutest, softest, most adorable little creatures in Austin. What a wonderful way to make new friends. Arrive early to get your ticket for a spot in line. FREE! BookPeople, 603 N Lamar, Austin. 
  4. Sound and Cinema: E.T. – Wednesday, July 16 at 7:30 p.m. Henry + The Invisibles will perform a tribute to E.T., followed by a screening of the movie E.T. on The Alamo’s giant inflatable outdoor screen. Folding chairs and blankets are encouraged. Picnics are allowed, but no outside alcohol may be brought onto the Long Center grounds. The food trailers will be open by 6 p.m., and the sunset concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The movie will immediately follow (after dark). Rated PG. FREE! The Long Center, 701 W Riverside Dr, Austin. Update: Postponed until Tuesday, July 22 due to the possibility of rain. 
  5. 101X Summer Cinema: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – Wednesday, July 16 at 8:00 p.m. Arrive early at Central Market with your blankets, lawn chairs and appetites. Food specials in the café. Movies start at dusk (around 8:30) but you don’t want to lose your seat. Rated PG-13. FREE! Central Market, 4001 N Lamar Blvd, Austin.
