Hillside Summer Concert Series – Tuesday, August 2 from 7-9:00 p.m. Head to the hillside for free, live music every Tuesday in July. Hear live music by Marcos Orozco and Rumores. Bring the whole family, blankets, canned drinks, and lawn chairs, but please leave glass and radios at home. FREE! A.B. Cantu/Pan American Recreation Center, 2100 E 3rd St, Austin.

Community Night at The Thinkery – Wednesday, August 3 from 4-8:00 p.m. At the Thinkery, science and families play side by side. Every Wednesday the museum stays open late for families to discover new ideas and learn together. Cost: Admission is by donation only, with a suggested $1 donation. Echo and the Bats – Thursday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. Dance along with Austin’s first all Youth Librarian Band. You’ve seen their storytimes, now hear some of your favorite kids’ books put to music. Shrek the Musical – Thursday, August 4 and Friday, August 5 at 8:15 p.m. Zilker Theatre Production’s summer musical is a cherished Austin cultural event. Shrek The Musical brings the beloved characters from the popular animated films to life on stage.
