  1. The Cohen New Works Festival – Monday, April 13 – Friday, April 17. The Cohen New Works Festival is a week-long showcase of new work created by UT students held every other spring in various locations in and around the Winship Drama Building and the University of Texas campus. All tickets are free and can be reserved online here. Each person may reserve 2 tickets per performance time.

Family Movie Night: Dolphin Tale 2 – Tuesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. The team of people who saved Winter’s life reassemble in the wake of her surrogate mother’s passing in order to find her a companion so she can remain at the Clearwater Marine Hospital. Middle Grade Book Extravaganza – Wednesday, April 15 at 6:00 p.m. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, fun-loving friends of all ages, FIVE super awesome fantastic stupendous amazing unbelievable incredible middle grade authors will be at BookPeople AT THE SAME TIME!!! Mac Barnett, Jory John, John Scieszka, Jonathan Auxier, and Tom Angleberger will hold court simultaneously. All five authors will speak about and sign their latest books. Don’t miss this incredible feat of middle grade author shenanigans. The speaking portion of the event is FREE; to get a book signed, a copy of the event book must be purchased from BookPeople. BookPeople, 603 N Lamar, Austin.
  4. Texas Community Music Festival – Friday, April 17 from 5:30-9:00 p.m. Now in its 10th year, it’s safe to say the TCMF has become an Austin music tradition. Hear Trilogy Clarinets of Marble Falls (5:30 p.m.), Not Past 11 (6:45 p.m.), and Rhythm Congress (8:00 p.m.). This will be the first of 10 nights of free musicFREE! Shakespeare at the Market: Love’s Labour’s Lost (RSVP) – Friday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. Present Company, in partnership with Whole Foods Market, presents the second annual Shakespeare at the Market on the rooftop of the downtown Austin Whole Foods Market. Seating and music begin at 6:30 for a 7:00 p.m. performance. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or short chair, and grab picnic goodies before the show. Promoting the philosophy of “accessible & sustainable art,” Shakespeare at the Market is a FREE event, however a donation is suggested for guests able to support. Reserve your tickets here.
