The Austin Teen Book Festival is now called the Texas Teen Book Festival, but it’s still free! 

The Texas Teen Book Festival, in conjunction with the Austin Public Library Friends Foundation, in partnership with BookPeople and venue sponsor St. Edward’s University, is pleased to present the Texas Teen Book Festival, a free one-day event that celebrates the teen reading experience by inviting teens to visit with many of the most popular and critically acclaimed young adult authors. 

This year’s festival will feature 29 authors with an expected attendance of more than 4,000 teens, parents, grandparents, teachers, and librarians from across the state.

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Opening – James Dashner (The Maze Runner and The Rule of Thought)
  • Lunch – A.S. King (Glory O’Brien’s History of the Future) and Andrew Smith (100 Sideways Miles)
  • Closing – Lauren Oliver (Delirium and Panic)
  • Special Talk – Scott Westerfeld (Uglies and Afterworlds)
  • Writing Workshops – Austin Kleon (Show Your Work!) and St. Edward’s humanities scholars
