Star Viewing Party at UT on Wednesday

Every Wednesday that the University of Texas is in session, the astronomy department offers FREE Public Star Parties on the roof of Robert Lee Moore Hall. Astronomy fans can view the night skies currently from now through March 7, 2012, from 7 – 9 p.m. Just take the elevator up to the 17th floor and follow the signs upstairs to the telescope.

Using a 16 inch telescope, viewers may be able to see a planet or two, binary stars, star clusters and maybe one of the brighter nebulae. All ages are welcome, but young children must be under adult supervision at all times.

Viewing times change throughout the year. Visit the Astronomy Outreach website for current times. For weather cancellation information, call 512-232-4265.
