Springwoods Pool Reopens This Weekend

SafeGuard Aquatics, a commercial pool management company based in Austin, has contracted with the City of Austin to manage, maintain, and staff the Springwoods pool located in northwest Austin. After several weeks of preparation, SafeGuard Aquatics is thrilled to announce that the pool will be opening this Memorial Day weekend to the public. The public will receive free entry into the pool facility for the entire holiday weekend.

The pool, once owned and operated by the Forest North/Springwoods Recreation Association and later by the Springwoods MUD, was annexed by the City of Austin and has been closed since September of 2011. The City of Austin has been maintaining the pool since that time but handed over the operations of the pool to SafeGuard Aquatics on May 2, 2014.

Beginning May 24, 2014, the Springwoods Pool will be open to the public. Following Memorial Day weekend, the facility will begin selling day entry passes (for both Austin and non-Austin residents) as well as summer season passes. Pricing information for all pass types will be available at the facility this weekend as well as on their website soon. Information on upcoming aquatics programming, including Swim Lessons for all ages, will also be available at the pool beginning this weekend. Concessions will also be available for purchase at the pool throughout the summer season.

Memorial Day weekend hours for Springwoods Pool will be 2-8 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
