How to Shop Local In Austin on Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturdays were made for cities like Austin, where small businesses thrive. It may seem like Austin has become the next Silicon Valley but Austinites are still fully invested in all things local. No matter what kind of entrepreneur venture you plan to embark on, from tech start ups to recycled earrings, the city embraces you and gives you the opportunity to succeed. So with that said we’ve put together a list of the best local shopping events to support on Small Businesses Saturday.

Small Business Saturday Scavenger Hunt | 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.| Lick Honest Ice Creams, 1905 Aldrich Street, Suite 150
Who’s ready for an adventure? The Small Business Scavenger Hunt at Mueller Austin is happening Thanksgiving weekend, in celebration of Small Business Saturday. Bring your smartphone or camera and get started at Lick Honest Ice Creams to pick up your clue card for this FREE event, then follow the instructions to find all the stops at your favorite neighborhood businesses. Finishers will earn 25% off their ice cream purchase at Lick and will be entered into a raffle for a BIG gift basket including gift cards & goodies from all participating businesses ($295 value!).

The Paper + Craft Pantry | from 12 to 6 p.m. | 2511 East 6th Street, Unit A, Building 4
Join The Paper +  Craft Pantry as they open up their studio to celebrate all things small business. You can expect to meet some incredible woman-owned businesses and have a great time picking up special gifts for the holidays (and yourself!). 2019 featured vendors include Long Acre Ceramics, Sam Wish, Si Design Loft, Teddy V. Patisserie, and The Matcha Cart.

Circle Brewing | from 1 to 5 p.m. | 2340 West Braker Lane, Suite B
Join Circle Brewing for Small Business Saturday where you can shop local vendors, drink beer, listen to music, and get in the holiday spirit all while supporting local artisans and independent craft beer. The Texas Craft Brewers Guild has even designed limited glassware to promote exploring Texas beer. Pick up one of these limited edition souvenir glasses, designed by Austin-based artist, Alana Louise, which celebrates the beautiful landscape of Texas. Each glass is $10 and includes one free pour. Plus, $1 from each glass supports the Texas Craft Brewers Guild. 
Vendors include: Amy Rosalyn, Busy Bébés, Grace Chomick Illustrations, Gudd Designs, Patchy Keen, Simple Compositions, and food from Carabao Express.

Maggie Louise Confections | from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. | 1017 East 6th Street
Small Business Saturday celebrates its 10th year of supporting local businesses in Austin and Maggie Louise Confections is delighted to offer shoppers a special gift with purchase. Spend $25 or more and receive a box of delicious chocolate turtles (while supplies last).

Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming| from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | 1204 North Lamar Boulevard
Join Woof Gang for 10% off on everything in the store and an adoption event (from 12 to 3 p.m.) with their friends at Righteous Paws Rescue for an afternoon of cuddles and kisses from some very sweet fur babies in need of a home.

Blue Genie Art Bazaar | from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. | 6100 Airport Boulevard
The annual Blue Genie Art Bazaar is back and is definitely your one stop shop for all holiday shopping. Shop THOUSANDS of original works at this free market. Anything from art, to pottery, to jewelry, to fun stuff for kids. The Blue Genie Art Bazaar also doesn’t accept just anyone. All artists that sell at the market must go through a rigorous jury process. Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for someone or stocking stuffers, you’ll find what you need!

Hill Country Galleria Holiday Village | from 12 to 8 p.m. | 12700 Hill Country Boulevard
Hill Country Galleria hosts a Holiday Village on the lawn where guests can walk the decorated walkways and shop for gifts and goods like custom gifts, ornaments, seasonal coffee and cocoa, mulled cider, toys, spices, and apothecary goods from holiday vendors, such as CiMi Shine, ATX Wood Crafts, Grace & Charm, and more. Black Friday Sip & Shop | from 3 to 6 p.m. | Gallery One Point Fashion, 1505 Demaret Street, Pflugerville
Shop the greatest sales on locally designed fashion, hand crafted jewelry, body care & so much more. Experience a joyous atmosphere while sampling our holiday punch! Sales on local fashion, hand crafted jewelry, unique gift ideas, and so much more. Free swag bags (to all attendees; no purchase necessary). Raffles on the hour; announced via social media (Stop in and drop your name into the hat; you do not need to be present to win). Snacks and beverages.

Downtown Buda Farmer’s Market | from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. | 308 South Main Street, Buda
The Downtown Buda Farmers’ Market is located in the heart of Central Texas in historic downtown Buda. It happens year round on Saturdays but if you haven’t been, why not check it out for the first time this Saturday?
