Registration Open for Free Rodeo Rumble

Want to enjoy a free morning at Rodeo Austin?  Sign your child up to participate in the Rodeo Rumble Kid’s 1K Fun Run on Saturday, March 14, 2015.

Rodeo Rumble is a free event for children age 12 and under. Held in Luedecke Arena the first Saturday of the Fair and Rodeo, Rodeo Rumble offers kids the chance to race on the dirt where the cowboys and cowgirls will compete each evening. Runners will receive a custom back number for the race and a cowbell and treats (usually Blue Bell ice cream) for finishing the course.

The 2015 Rodeo Rumble will be held on Saturday, March 14th. Registration opens at 9:00 a.m. and the first heat of runners takes off at 9:30 a.m. Register your child here.

My boys ran in the Rodeo Rumble last year and then we stuck around to explore Rodeo Austin. The kids visited livestock, spent some time in the Kidstown petting zoo, watched pig races, and rode around the pedal tractor maze. All free!  As a heads up, though, the carnival opens at 11 a.m. on March 14 and those rides are not free.
