Penfold in the Park Presents Romeo & Juliet

Penfold in the Park returns to Round Rock this summer, with a free, outdoor production of Romeo and Juliet. Take your blanket or chairs and watch live theatre under the stars in the Centennial Plaza amphitheater, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from June 5 – June 28, 2014, at 8 p.m.

Shakespeare’s tale of young lovers swept into a catastrophic vortex of misunderstandings, secrets and fate is one of the most beloved stories of all time. In this fresh adaptation for five actors, Romeo and Juliet, the son and daughter of two noble families locked in an old feud, are irresistibly drawn to each other. Defying the hatred and distrust surrounding them, they dare to believe they can, and must, be together.

Each performance will feature a different special guest who will kick off the evening with a 7:30 p.m. pre-show. A list of pre-show performers will be posted in late May. Audiences are welcome to arrive early with their own food and drink, or to purchase snacks from the concessions tent.

The show will run approximately one hour and 40 minutes, including one intermission.  It is recommended for middle school ages and up. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
