Looking for something fun, free, and family friendly to do on Sunday, May 25, 2014? If so, come on down to the Texas State Capitol for National Tap Dance Day!
On National Tap Dance Day, Tapestry Dance Company and Shirley McPhail School of Dance will celebrate the legendary performer Bill “Bojangles” Robinson. He is the tap dancer who performed with Shirley Temple in many of her movies. May 25th is his birthday.
The Shirley McPhail School of Dance (SMSD) Adult Tap Ensemble, along with the professionals from Tapestry Dance Company, will be performing from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Capitol, under the dome.
If you tap, or used to tap, wear your tap shoes and Shim Sham along!
