National Fossil Day at Texas Memorial Museum

Join the Texas Memorial Museum (TMM) in celebrating National Fossil Day on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.  National Fossil Day is a celebration organized by the National Park Service to promote public awareness and stewardship of fossils, as well as to foster a greater appreciation of their scientific and educational values.


This event will be free and scheduled activities will include:

  • 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Fossil Identifications and more!  Meet paleontologists from TMM and the Paleontological Society of Austin to learn about your personal fossil finds and the fabulous fossil record of Texas. Explore paleontology as a career or hobby. (1st floor, Paleo Lab area)
  • 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Talk Like a Paleontologist educator workshop (Pre-registration required)

Admission to the Museum will be waived for the day on October 15, 2014, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Donations are welcome.
