Movies in the Park Returns With The Goonies

Movies in the Park is back with a series of free films brought to you by Austin Parks Foundation. This year, APF is partnering with Rocket to Cinema to bring you free movies in parks all over Austin. Residents and visitors bring their blanket or lawn chairs for a fun and relaxing evening under the beautiful Austin night sky.

Dogs, picnics and lawn chairs are welcome. Alcoholic beverages, glass and styrofoam are not permitted in the park. We do provide recycling bins, but ask that you help us out by packing out all of your own trash. Smoking is also prohibited in the park, per city law.

This week, catch a screening of The Goonies (rated PG) at Dick Nichols District Park.

An old-fashioned yarn about a band of adventurous kids who take on the might of a property developing company which plans to destroy their home to build a country club. When the children discover an old pirate map in the attic, they follow it into an underground cavern in search of lost treasure but come up against plenty of dangerous obstacles along the way.
