Erin BoyleIf they wondered farther than they are used too and became lost/displaced then....Those cats are almost always hiding nearby. Leave a door, garage or window open for them to re enter if possible. Tell all your neighbors and put up neon poster board lost cat signs.Put some of your dirty cloths outside so they can use them to smell their way home. Look in trees, on roofs, and under/in everything. Use a flashlight at night to look for eyes. Fear can make even the most tame cat act feral so some need to trapped. I don't recommend putting their litter box or food outside because it can attract other cats and wildlife that might run off or harm your cat. Otherwise...Something may have happened to prevent them from coming home. Have your neighbors check all their garages and sheds incase he got locked inside. Put up the lost cat flyers incase someone took him in.

FOUND CAT, Allandale neighborhood: This young male orange / ginger tabby has been hanging out for several weeks in our neighborhood (on Pegram Ave between Vine St and Ardath St).

At first we thought our neighbors had a new cat, as he seems happy spending time with their three existing indoor/outdoor cats, but it turns out hes a stray as far as they know. No other nearby neighbors know where he came from.

Hes a small little guy: best guess is that hes less than a year old and about seven pounds.

A different neighbor (Mary) has been feeding him, but she would like to find his owners, or failing that, take him to Austin Animal Center. He doesnt seem truly feral, but he is very skittish around humans, so she hasnt been able to handle him (other than a few quick strokes on his back) or take him in to see if hes chipped. She is not on Facebook so Im posting this for her.

If this is your cat, or you know who he belongs to, please contact: Mary (mefaus@aol.com)

Hi! I hate to report this but Saturday evening I saw what appears to be a trash bag close to the curb. Sally LinebackOne time, when I was renting a place near a very large feral cat colony, one of the cats died underneath my back porch. I think it was sick and crawled away to die. I called 311 and they told me to do exactly that--put it in a trash bag and leave it at the curb for the city to pick up separate from regular garbage pickup. It sounds cruel and awful, but that is what I was instructed to do and didn't know anything else to do. This could be the case with what you just saw.

Aeron FarmerYes, let's absolutely hope it was already dead on arrival, and left according to directions. It could indeed be a road kill situation, and someone trying to do the right thing. It sucks, but I guess it's gotten to the point where we all need to check trash bags quickly that turn up randomly. And BTW, I just want to say how much I appreciate this group. It was a lot harder in times past when I wondered if I was the only one outraged by animal abuse.

Knowing that everyday in Austin people are finding, sheltering, and reuniting pets warms my heart ❤️!!! The last pet I lost was my cat of 10 years, Kinoko. He went missing in 2009, and was never found. There was nothing like this then, I was alone, and it was so much worse! FB is full of a lot of crap, but it's groups like this that change lives, and build community that should be what we use social media for more often. Thanks for being awesome!

Ben CohenOK, Calene Summers, Erin Boyle, et. al.,I didn't see the kitty but got lots of info. The deck is on the left side of the house, behind the open gate. The house is empty cause it was just remodeled, but everything is perfectly safe. You can't see much under the deck because there's grass growing all up under it. Carmen Hernandez, a lovely person, can see the entire deck from her upstairs window next door. She can keep an eye on a trap and/or continue trying to feed the cat and make friends with it. Based on her description it's an older kitten or very skinny adult cat, and not entirely feral. I left a can of food out on top of the deck for it. ALSO ... does anyone remember the woman who came to Austin in her RV to ride out the hurricane a few weeks ago, and lost her cat? Same street, same block. Can anyone find that old posting and bump it, and tag Carmen Hernandez? She may be able to tell if it's the same cat. Thanks!

Rachelle WilsonSabrina Elliff Yeah, but then Ben said the description could fit a skinny/small young adult. Plus it seems like no ones really gotten an up close look. Funny question, does Cheddar have one of those small, high pitched kitty meows? Like a kitten... One good piece of advice I've gotten is to not put too much stock on descriptions for cats listed as found. Including size, hair length, age, gender etc.. A Woman called me last night thinking she had my cat, when I got the picture of the cat it didn't look anything like my cat, but she thought it did 🙂 I ended up taking the cat from her, checking its chip, and it was picked up by its owner a few hours later. Then he had Tiff's Treats cookies sent to me... anything is possible:)

Stephanie MartensSo sorry your kitty is missing! Please read this link, edit this post to include the information that we request as best you can, search and post in the other places that we recommend, and check out the tips that may be crucial in your search. For starters, put some of your dirty laundry outside your home or apartment right now - the dirtier, the better. I always recommend dirty socks, however shirts, pants and used bedding are all very effective. If you need help posting on Nextdoor, let us know, and one of our volunteers are members can help with that. austin.com/lost-found-pet-austin-heres-need-first/

If you follow all her instructions and still don't find your cat then there is a money back guarantee on the book/video. Many of our members have gotten their cat back by following Kim's advice. I have used her book to help find lost cats too. It will be money well spent. She is also offering 10% off to our group members. www.lostcatfinder.com/austinlostcatmembers

Update** kittens are safe and being cared for at Misfit farms***

Can someone help or refer me to a group that can help. These are the only details I have.

A friend called and said her and her neighbors found a litter of kittens in the bushes. They kept an eye out since yesterday to see if mama would come back and she hasn't. They went and got milk and bottles and brought the kittens in. They are now trying to feed them but aren't having any luck with latching them on. I don't really know what to say to her other than based on things I've read you should not take them. I'm unaware of how long to wait? At this point if mom doesn't come back would they need a nursing mother to help them? Their eyes are still closed and their hungry.

Lisa KahlerI had litter mates before. They were born in my house 8 years ago. Esco died a couple years ago at 6 from kidney complications. He's buried in my back yard. Because they were litter mates his brother Sasha was completely heart broken. I ended up adopting another cat last year to help ease his heartbreak. The cat I adopted is very independent and nothing like my 2 black kitty's. The saddest time I've had was finding out almost 3 months ago my Shasa was gone and has never returned home. I already have my 10 year old dog and the newer cat. I can't ever replace Sasha but something about this baby kitten just gave me comfort.

Please help to continue to look for Angel. I talked to the director of Bastrop Animal Shelter today and they have know record of her every coming into that facility. The women who found her in May (Jennifer) said she took her to Bastrop. I believe the women still has her in Austin or gave her away to a family or friend in Bastrop. Im calling Angel stolen at this point. Angel has a readable microchip and she is very missed by her family. Im praying I will get her back everyday I pray. Hopefully whoever has her is taking good care of her. So if you know a neighbor (In Bastrop) off Circle Drive, Pitter Pat, Mowrinkle, Thomas Springs RD, Williamson Creek Drive or surrounding areas that Acquired a new Silky Terrier or Yorkie Terrier which a Silky can be confused with(In May or June of 2017) . Please let me know. Thank You for your help.

Please Help to continue to look for Angel. Im not planning on giving up on finding her. Someone knows the person that has her. I believe Someone will do the right thing and we will get her back, but I cant do it without all of you Good People. thank you in advance. http://kxan.com/2017/07/19/familys-lost-dog-given-away-to-woman-after-microchip-mix-up/

I lost Angel on 5/4/17 she is a little Silky Terrier with Blonde and black highlights (Hair) she was wearing her harness collar. (Name tag: Angel) she is my Moms Dog from Houston. she was left in my care (Austin: off Williamson Creek Drive) and I lost her. Please help me find her. The large property behind my house goes to Thomas Springs Rd. She could have also ran down (Williamson Creek Drive, Pitter Pat, Mow Winkle, Circle Drive, etc..) She is microchipped and registered with the AKC/Home Again. Although if you tried calling the number on the tags they are wrong and I since had her contact information updated, so call again please. Thank you for your help. Call 512-560-7799. Note: 6/16/17 this is a picture of Juliet her family member. I didnt have a picture of Angel, so I posted Juliets picture instead. Please look at more pictures in this post of Angel family.

Please help me find Angel. Please help me find the Lady who has her and took her to Hill Country Animal Hospital at 7023 Bee Caves on 5/8/2017. Angel went missing on 5/4/2017. She escaped out my backyard and I believe she ran down Thomas Springs RD. She could have also ran down Williamson Creek Drive, Pitter Pat, Mowinkle or Circle Drive. I live on Williamson Creek Drive. I found out in July that a Lady found her and took her to Hill Country Animal Hospital 4 days after she went missing. The vet hospital scanned her and called Home Again without results, so the Lady took her home. Hill Country Animal Hospital didnt take down the Ladys name or number and the Lady didnt post Angel on any lost and found sites that I could find, so now someone has her and I do not know who that someone is. Angel is still missing. Please Help maybe you know this Lady. thank you. This is a picture of Juliet and Dolly. I do not have a picture of Angel (My Mommas Dog) but Angel looks like them.

I'm not planning on giving up on finding her. Someone knows the person that has her. I believe Someone will do the right thing and we will get her back, but I can't do it without all of you Good People. thank you in advance. kxan.com/2017/07/19/familys-lost-dog-given-away-to-woman-after-microchip-mix-up/

I lost Angel on 5/4/17 she is a little Silky Terrier with Blonde and black highlights (Hair) she was wearing her harness collar. (Name tag: Angel) she is my Mom's Dog from Houston. she was left in my care (Austin: off Williamson Creek Drive) and I lost her. I didn't have a picture of Angel, so I posted Juliet's picture instead.

Hill Country Animal Hospital didn't take down the Lady's name or number and the Lady didn't post Angel on any lost and found sites that I could find, so now someone has her and I do not know who that someone is. Angel is still missing. Please Help maybe you know this Lady. thank you. This is a picture of Juliet and Dolly. I do not have a picture of Angel (My Momma's Dog) but Angel looks like them.

Sharon WatermanAre signs posted? Flyers attached to neon poster board at all major entrances to neighborhood? If signs aren't up you aren't going to get sightings..sightings mean we set up food and a trap..

Janell SloanThis is a Picture of Dolly (Angel's family member) she is with me not lost. Still looking for Angel. The picture above posted for Angel is a picture of Juliet not of Angel. I didn't have a picture of Angel so I posted Juliet's picture because out of Momma's 4 dogs that I was in charge of while she wasn't well Juliet looked more like Angel than the other 3 babies (however Dolly looks like Angel too minus the bubble head over her eyes). Angel is the youngest of them, only 12. went missing on her Birthday :(. I'm heartbroken that I lost my Momma's baby, please help me find her. Thank you.

Janell SloanOff Williamson Creek Drive. I lost Angel on 5/4/17. I believe she ran after one of my outdoor cats towards the large property behind my house, which runs into Thomas Springs road. I hope if someone found her they will give her back to me. she is my Momma's doggy which I was taking care of will my Momma was not well. Angel does not know her way around Austin (she is from Houston) and is an indoor doggy. the picture above is a picture of Juliet one of Angel's family members. I didn't have a picture of Angel so I posted Juliet's picture to find Angel. Angel is younger than Juliet so she will look different. also the picture I took of Juliet makes her look like she has a longer snout than what she does. So if you see or have seen a neighbor with a new Silky Terrier in the Weir Loop, Thomas Springs Rd, Williamson Creek Drive, Mow Winkle, Pitter Pat or Circle Drive Area please let me know. She was wearing her harness collar with her name on it and she is now registered with the AKC and she is Micro-chipped. Thank you for your help.

Cassi 'Heisler' LawrenceSo sorry your sweetie is missing. Put out some dirty laundry. The dirtier the better. Your scent may guide them home. Please edit and add the missing info we request so that your post is searchable and effective. Even if it’s in the flier, it needs to be added. To edit, click the down arrow in the upper right corner. Be sure to file a lost pet report with the Wilco shelter by emailing a photo and description to wcras@wilco.org. Check the Austin Animal Center too in case he traveled. Also post on Craigslist in both the Pets and Lost & Found sections under community and Nextdoor. Hopefully these tips will bring them home quickly.

Erin BoyleYou should also consider contacting a pet detective or buying her book/video. You can get her video along with the ebook directly from her website for $25.

Lola SilvestriThank you for all the amazing tips! Yes, Bruno has always been an indoor/outdoor cat. I spent 7 hours in the woods yesterday near where he was last seen hanging out dirty tshirts and some of his favorite cat nip toys.
