*LOST DOG/Female/Shepherd mix/Last seen 8706 FM812/Creedmoor/PARSLEY* If all of you could please keep an eye out for my moms pup, Parsley, I would greatly appreciate it. She was last seen running East on FM812 near 183. She is tan with light brown markings, floppy ears, and hazel eyes. She is sweet but flighty, wearing a purple collar when she went running off. Shes a bit over a year old. She is not currently microchipped. Please call 311 if you find or spot her, and also contact myself at 5126532965, Vickie Hicks, or Vasiliki Katina Hicks. My mom took her to get microchipped on July 2nd and while she was in the care of animal control at the mobile clinic they accidentally let her go. We dont live in Austin, were all in Round Rock, so the odds of us finding her on our own are slim. Were counting on Animal Control and anyone else in the area to help us if they can. Her story has now been shared on KVUE and Austin American Statesman but we need help to get her story to reach Telemundo and Univision as well. If anyone has the ability to help us share the story to the Spanish speaking community we would appreciate the help. Again, please call 311 if you find her or spot her, and also contact myself, my mom, or my sister. Thank you so much!

Beverly LunaThese people really need our help everyone. The owner (mom) was rear ended and injured yesterday when she was looking for Parsley and had to go to the hospital. She is going out to look for Parsley again today with a neck brace. She can't stand the thought of her baby being out there. The daughter (posting here) is 32-weeks pregnant and is on partial bed rest. They are looking too, but need as much help as they can get.

*NEED HELP WITH BOTTLE-FED KITTEN*
We had a ~2-3 week old kitten dropped off at the gate of the veterinary hospital where I work. My truck broke down on the way to APA this evening, so now we're both stuck. 🙁

I was just wondering if anyone here is a part of any bottle kitten volunteer groups? I can probably help him through tonight if need be, but I just wanted to see if I could get him in the best hands sooner than later. I can drop him off wherever he needs to be after the tow truck arrives, and he already has some canned KMR.

Thanks in advance! Delete if not appropriate!

Erin BoyleHe needs to be kept on a heating pad on low but needs an area he can move off it. At 2 weeks he needs the bottle but at 3 weeks he might be able to eat some gruel or you can syringe feed him it. He needs to be feed every 3-4 hrs including overnight. At 2 weeks he needs to be stimulated to go potty but at 3 weeks he may be able to go on his own. If you can weigh him then he is 2 weeks at around 200 grams or 3 weeks at around 300 grams. A 3 weeks old kitten can crawl well but a 2 week old should still be pretty clumsy. Also, did you check with apa to make sure it's ok to take him straight there? They may want him to go to AAC first.

Beverly LunaThank you so much for helping this sweetie get home! Please post on NextDoor ASAP. You can take them to get scanned for a microchip for free at any vet. Take a picture of the number on the scan result. When you get this dog checked for a microchip, make sure the whole body is scanned as chips can migrate. If you file a found animal report and upload a picture at 311.austintexas.gov/reports/new?service_id=5579f05447199e0be4000074, the picture will show up in the Austin Animal Center database which will help in case someone is looking there for their dog. Please read the link in full and post in the all the places recommended for their best chance at getting home. Also, add any missing info we require by clicking the down arrow in the upper right corner. Hopefully they will be reunited soon! austin.com/lost-found-pet-austin-heres-need-first/

Erin BoyleIf they wondered farther than they are used too and became lost/displaced then....Those cats are almost always hiding nearby. Leave a door, garage or window open for them to re enter if possible. Tell all your neighbors and put up neon poster board lost cat signs.Put some of your dirty cloths outside so they can use them to smell their way home. Look in trees, on roofs, and under/in everything. Use a flashlight at night to look for eyes. Fear can make even the most tame cat act feral so some need to trapped. I don't recommend putting their litter box or food outside because it can attract other cats and wildlife that might run off or harm your cat. Otherwise...Something may have happened to prevent them from coming home. Have your neighbors check all their garages and sheds incase he got locked inside. Put up the lost cat flyers incase someone took him in.

This is Venus she has been missing since Tuesday night around 9pm
She was startled when we were coming back from a walk when someone either fired a gun or popped a firework.
She is very sweet and would never hurt anyone.
I know someone has her or she is too far to make it back home because she has traveled from my sisters house on 290 and 183 back to my house on Decker Ln.
She has kidney and heart problems that she needs daily medication for.
The most recent picture is the 2nd pic
Her hair is medium length still short for a chow because we keep it trimmed but not shaved down at the moment as shown in a couple of the pictures
Please if you have seen her contact me at any time (512)586-6029 Valerie

Put her bedding with stinky clothes outside to help her find her way home, though she's probably very close and too scared to come out of hiding. We highly recommend that everyone searching for lost cats buy Kim Freeman's eBook and video. Kathy MuelkerHave you posted on Nextdoor. It's so important. Talk with all your neighbors in person. Ask permission to search their garages and back yards too. Put up 'lost cat' posters around your neighborhood. Tell neighbors to call you if they spot her. Leave a re-entry point so she can get back inside if she comes home when you're asleep or away. You can leave the garage door open about 6 inches - or even crack a window.

Update: reunited !

Even though this might be a long shot, I found this dog near the apartment complex I work at on Camino La Costa, Austin Texas 78752. She seems so very sweet and pretty well taken care of, not to mention slightly trained.( from what I can tell) I got her microchip number but no luck as to who owns her. She is also on Craigslist and I registered a lost and found ticket for austin animal center. Let me know if she looks familiar or if she is yours! Im waiting to hear back from Austin animal center to see if they can track who adopted her.

Dolly EnseyDepending upon which side of Red River @E.32nd you are, I would also make sure to post/distribute fliers to local businesses (e.g. Jimmy Johns, Cornucopia, even the Wells Fargo) and putting up posters at that intersection as well over at Dean Keeton @Red River, where you'll get a lot of eyes reading. Someone visiting/leaving work at St. David's Hospital might've picked her up during that timeframe and are now looking to see if anyone puts up a Lost flier/poster in that area. I'd even take a flier to Cothron's Locks over on the IH-35 access road, just south of St. David's.

Kathy MuelkerHave you contacted all the rescue groups that specialize in small dogs and/or Dachshunds? Sometimes people pick up stray animals and they don't take them to the animal shelter. They turn them over to a rescue group. I see this quite often, and it prevents owners from finding their missing pets. Some people are new to this area or just don't like the shelters, so they take matters into their own hands and don't follow the correct processes. It is sometimes a lack of knowledge - or because they 'heard the shelters were full.' Those messages and announcements like "the shelter is full or at capacity" can unfortunately cause some people to keep or rehome stray pets they find. We have also seen people visiting here from out of town that pick up stray pets and take them back to their home city, which obviously hinders the chance of reuniting the pet with their family. Things like this especially happen with pets that have no microchip - sadly. Some people are very judgmental and wrongly assume the owner is not a good owner if their pet is not microchipped. 🙁 You can google "Dachshund rescue Austin" or "Dachshund rescue Texas" to find a list of the rescue groups to contact. They all have Facebook pages and most have websites where you can also view the dogs they have up for adoption. Also check the Austin Humane Society - because there have been several incidents of people taking stray pets there instead of the shelter. Those pets were then kept at AHS and put up for adoption. You can view all their animals up for adoption on their website. I would recommend taking flyers to Austin Humane Society as well as Austin Pets Alive and Central Texas SPCA.

Sable MillerCat looks like it is asking to be held, petted, or helped. Someone could post a found sign on Nextdoor. If cat is near traffic it may be in danger. Can the cat be handled? Trust your instincts. Is the cat hungry, dirty, skinny, signs he may be lost.

Shelly BrownHowever, even a lost cat might look healthy if someone is feeding it. My cat was lost for 4 months, she only lost 1 lb and she looked perfectly healthy, thanks to the people that put food out for her every day. She was also still friendly and lovable, probably because they also pet her when she visited their yard all the time. The only real change was how much her fur lightened from the sun since she was an indoor only kitty.

Stephanie MartensCan someone please post the Found Animal Report that should have been filed with the city of Austin by now? Has this dog been posted on Nextdoor and both sections of Craigslist, as well?

Cindy Collier SmithWe heard from the owner a few minutes ago and told him we had a senior couple wanting to adopt her. He said yes. We are talking to the couple now. We will meet them in the morning and they will give her a trial run.

FOUND cat (appears pregnant!)

We found this very sweet pregnant cat in CENTRAL AUSTIN in the Shoalmont neighborhood, specifically on Oakmont blvd just north of 45th street, a little east of Mopac.

We found her on July 24, 2017, but one neighbor says she’s been hanging around for a few weeks at least.

We took her to a vet to check for microchip and she didn’t have one. She is very friendly and seems to love human attention. She’s very clean and her coat looks like it’s in excellent condition. We also suspect she’s not far from giving birth!

Here’s what we’ve done so far:
took to vet to check for microchip (none found)
filed a report with 311
posted on the neighborhood list serv and on next-door
put notes on neighbor’s doors

I can keep this sweet kitty until this Friday, July 28th, but I’m leaving town Saturday morning. If I don’t hear anything by Friday, I will take her to AAC.

I’m an experienced foster and have fostered many pregnant/nursing mom cats in the past through APA, so she will be well cared for while she’s with me. However, I don’t have any good ideas on what to do with this kitty since I won’t be able to hold on to her for more than a few days.

If anyone has any advice on what’s best to do with her if no owner steps forward, I would welcome it!

Please feel free to contact me, Tina Barrett, at 512-699-6577 or at mishibar@gmail.com or comment on the post. Thanks!

Stephanie MartensGreat job so far, Tina! We suggest also posting in both the Lost and Found and Pets sections of Craigslist and making a post on Pawboost, as well. You don't need to pay for their services, though. Just do the free part.

Stephanie MartensOur organization may be able to arrange a foster, too, if necessary. Do you know if they did a full body scan or if they only scanned the neck, shoulders and back?

My dogs had this baby kitten cornered last night. Brought him in didnt want anything to happen to him. Unfortunately I have three dogs which do not take to cats. So if anyone knows where I can take him or is willing to foster until his parents are found it would be greatly appreciated. Its hard trying to keep them apart. Im located in South Austin near William cannon and manchaca.

Jessica AlberthalThere are some members in this group who have scanners and might be able to come to you, unless someone else is able to take the cat for you. Erin Boyle

Megan HochI can if I get off my normal time today (430 pm), but if I have to stay later it might need to be another day. My dogs are inside all day and I'll need to get home for them. I'll check back in after work.

Ariel DanielleThis is so hard for me to see, I have 2 very prey-driven dogs in my house and no supplies to care for a cat. However, if it comes down to the wire and you have no other choices, I have extra bedrooms that I can keep him in as long as I can get a litter box/food for him. I usually get off work early enough to get a chip scan done down the street if you can't get it done before then. It's not ideal but let me know.

Sable MillerDollar general has litter boxes for under ten dollars. Dry food can be under five, Purina friskees better than nothing. I take care of several cats. So in an emergency I have had to find to find things.

Ida SegoviaI found someone on next door that will foster her and if we can't find the owner eventually will adopt after the required time of searching. The kitten has no chip my friend took her to get scanned. I'm so happy I don't have to release him and he'll be cared for while we look for his family. Thank you everyone.

Sable MillerBe sure and post on Nextdoor also. The Man Who Lost His kitten was in South Austin I believe it was a little female kitten I'm not positive but he drove all the way to Manor to look at another Ginger kitten that someone found so I know he wants his kitten back and it would be really nice if that was his kitten
