Hi, I'm not sure where the best place to post this is but one of my feral cats was missing in action for a few weeks and has now turned back up injured. It looks like his eyelid is torn and swollen and he cannot close his eyes. He's extremely hands off and has never let us or any of the other ferals approach him. I'm pretty sure he's unaltered as I haven't been able to capture him and we call him "scarface" because he always looks like he's been in a fight, just never this bad. Is there someone with more skill than me that could capture him? I don't care for turning over my ferals, but I can't afford care for him even if I could capture him and I'd rather loose him and see him get help.
He's a ginger tabbie we've been feeding for over a year. Any help is appreciated. I'm located in Leander.

Our indoor/outdoor cat hasnt came back home in about two weeks which is not like her. She was a stray that walked into my home one day & has been ours since she was a few weeks old. She is about six months old. We believe she is a girl but could be wrong as we have not gotten her fixed yet to confirm. We miss her dearly! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. We call her Ruby and she is very sweet and playful. She normally lets us carry her and is a cuddly cat. She does not wear a collar, she hates them. Last seen in the Iroquois Ln & Burleson area.

I need to borrow a trap. There is a VERY skittish small solid black ball of floof that runs as soon as she hears movement. Not sure if female or male, not sure of pregnant or not, too much fur and kitteh moves too fast to get a decent look. I turn on the porch light and she hauls off. Even just walking on the sidewalk and she is gone before I hit the stairs. She does keep coming back to eat and drink water, but I simply can not gain her trust and being so close to a highway I am concerned I won't be able to before she is hit. I'm in north austin by 183 and 35.

Please note I can not speak on a phone. Anything touching my face is excruciatingly painful due to a nerve disorder. I try to keep talking to a minimum period.

Stephanie MartensThanks for letting us know, Amanda! They need to get scanned for a chip, for starters. If the chip is unregistered, we will research it. austin.com/lost-found-pet-austin-heres-need-first/ Check out the link below. The information that we need is in an image towards the top of the page. We definitely need to know what part of town and what the nearest major intersection is where they were found. Your friend needs to create a post on Nextdoor, and if she does not live in the area, we need to find a volunteer that can do it for her. She needs to file a found animal report with the city of Austin. 311.austintexas.gov. I highly recommend posting them in the Lost and Found and Pets sections of Craigslist, as well.

UPDATE: HOBBS HAS BEEN FOUND!!! 💛💛💛 He is safe with us and we are bringing him home!!! He was near Zilker Park at the Botanical Garden off of Barton Springs trapped in a large gated area. Thank you endlessly to everyone who has helped us, we are SO very grateful!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

LOST DOG-

My dog Hobbs is missing. He was last seen at Zilker Park around noon on Saturday April 22nd.
He is a yellow lab mix with 3 legs, he is missing his back right leg. We do not know his exact breed/mix because he is a rescue dog. He weighs about 55-60 pounds and is 4 years old. He is very friendly and always smiling. He was wearing a brown leather collar and a harness for his leash. He is not microchipped.

Zilker Park is somewhere he goes all the time and is able to run free with all the other dogs off their leashes. He is familiar with the area and knows to come check in with me at our normal spot every few minutes as I keep an eye on him. At one point yesterday he just disappeared. He does not normally wander far away from people. It makes me very afraid that someone took him. We stayed at Zilker for 10 hours on Saturday and 6 hours on Sunday and searched absolutely everywhere. We posted and handed out 200 flyers. All of the local shelters have been notified and we have visited Austin Animal Center. We are hoping and praying that someone turns him into a shelter.

If anyone has any information please contact my mom, Karla, at (512)-797-1901 or Delaney at (214)-998-1519. Any help is very appreciated. Reward if found. Please share.

Beverly LunaPut a separate ad on Craigslist in Lost and Found telling exactly what time you were at Zilker, the exact area, and the time Hobbs went missing. Put your telephone number in the ad. Ask if anyone saw anything to please contact you. Include a picture of Hobbs and describe him. By the way, perhaps I am missing it, but I don't see a regular ad on Craiglist for Hobbs. Please post that one first. Post in both the Lost and Found and in the Pets section under Community. If someone picked him up, particularly someone from out of town, they are likely to look there. Do the regular posts this morning, then if you don't hear anything, do the SEPARATE special post. Hang in there!

Stephanie MartensI'm not sure if you read the link I shared, but there are links to several important places to search/post online, as well as some great tips. Have you been able to post on www.nextdoor.com for the area around Zilker? If not, we can get one of our volunteers or members to take care of that for you. Also, we have had success with catching dogs lost in parks by leaving a kennel in the park with the owner's dirty clothes in it. If you would like to try this, then we most definitely have a kennel that you can use if you don't have one.

Katie CartyIf you haven't already, check out the app Finding Rover. You can upload his picture and info there and the app will notify area shelters as well as all Finding Rover users (like me 🙂 ) in your area. It can help you cast a wide net quickly and if anyone on the app has any info they can contact you immediately, as well as post a photo of him right away so you can see if they have found the right dog.

Delaney DupreUPDATE: In the last 15 hours we have been contacted by 3 separate people saying they think the saw Hobbs. First Sighting: A woman said she believes she saw Hobbs on SUNDAY (the day after he went missing) around 11:30am near S 1st and Riverside. She said he was wearing a leash and a harness and was with a couple. She does not remember details of the couple because she was just focused on the fact that she saw a dog with 3 legs. She said she thinks it was a young couple. Second Sighting: A separate woman believes she saw Hobbs also on Sunday and also around 11:30am at the park that Auditorium Shores connects to (near the first sighting). She said he was with a couple on a leash, wearing his harness, about 50 yards west of the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue sitting under a tree. She said it was away from the crowd. Auditorium Shores was the location of the Cap 10k race that was going on on Sunday. 20,000 people attended the race. This woman unfortunately said she doesn't remember details about the couple either, as she was focused on the dog with 3 legs. Third Sighting: A woman saw us putting up signs at the park near Auditorium Shores (they connect) and stopped us to tell us she saw Hobbs with a couple on Sunday on the trail we were on. She doesn't remember the couple but was confident that the dog she saw was Hobbs. This location was also near the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue and is close to Palmer Event Center. The photo I uploaded shows this location (of the 2nd and 3rd sightings). With this information we can't help but wonder- if this couple has Hobbs, why haven't they turned him in yet? We have now posted signs all over the Auditorium Shores area, throughout the park, and near S 1st and Riverside. We also placed an open kennel full of our clothes and blankets at Zilker Park in hopes that if Hobbs is near he can smell his way back. We have visited all the animal shelters daily and even the homeless shelter. We have posted hundreds of flyers. If anyone sees Hobbs are has any information please contact me or my mom, Karla, at (512)-797-1901.

Kathy MuelkerThe finder should confirm - not the owner. We see owners sometimes eager to claim the wrong pet because they get excited when a similar-looking dog is posted. We only see 2 photos here of the missing dog - and they don't show the entire body or markings. Age, neuter status, and distinguishing characteristics all have to be confirmed. We've had finders just hand over dogs and cats to someone that claims it's their missing pet - only to discover later it was not.

Michelle Rochte WomackLook at Hayder's last post. It's the same dog. But I completely understand where you're coming from! The finder needs to be sure!

4 months ago   ·  1
Avatar

Rachel BullionI look at pictures of dogs for many many hours every day. I thought of Hayder's dog when I first saw this dog posted on Craigslist when it was first found. I never commented on her post about it because the markings are different. Many breeds look very similar and little markings can be used to distinguish between lost and found pups. I wish it was hers!

4 months ago   ·  2
Avatar

Michelle Rochte WomackThe last picture Hayder just posted has the same markings. It doesn't hurt to have the two contact each other and discuss. It's worth a shot and I truly believe it's the same dog. But we'll see!

Annie NguyenI think our cat just showed up on the Austin Animal Center website, but I can't get in touch with anyone. My husband is on the way there, but it's the opposite end of town and will be a while. On the page it says "RQ FOSTER" in place of the kennel no. Does this mean she is not at the shelter at all but at a foster's house?? It also says her age estimate is 2 years old and she's about 11 years old, so I'm really hoping it actually is her...

Can someone post a Found dog on Nextdoor? Here's the info: black/tan elderly male chihuahua. Lana Marshall will update when she drops him at AAC. She or I can put up a post on here when we have more info.

Lana MarshallJust dropped him off at AAC. He wasn't looking so hot on the way there. 😕 I'll make a post with his info now but will need someone to post to Nextdoor since I don't live in that area.

Sharon WatermanI bet he was laying in the street bc he just couldn't or wouldn't walk any further...so the lady picked him up and put him on the sidewalk..bc it was about 1.5 hours from when the lady called 311 till Lana got there..and he had only gone a little further..poor guy was probably dehydrated and no one knows how long he had been out. Elderly dogs always look much more skinny and unkept than others. Hoping he has owners looking for him!!!

$$ REWARD $$

PLEASE if have Duke or know who does just return him. No questions asked.Duke has been missing from Honeycomb Mesa in Leander since March 17th. He was originally in the company of another dog. That dog was found three miles away but Duke was not with him. Duke is afraid of storms and riding in cars. He is well mannered if not protective of all children but may be skittish around adults. He is typically vocal but non aggressive. Please call 512-473-9458 or 512-986-1938 should you have any information that can bring Duke home. He is both neutered and microchipped.

Rachel DamianI'm so sorry Duke is still missing. You may want to edit your post to start with "Duke is still missing" and ending with "Toby was found" instead of the other way around. Some people may just read the first part real quickly and not realize there is still a lost dog. Just a thought! I hope you find him safe soon!

Starr LockwoodDonna Schultz Since Duke and Toby set out on their adventure together, and Toby was found 3 miles away, it might be a good idea to saturate the area where Toby was found with LOST DOG flyers for Duke. I wouldn't think that they would choose to split up unless someone took one of them away from the other. Maybe try editing the top of the post to say something like the following so it won't be quite so confusing. Now that Toby has been found, the focus needs to be wholly on Duke. "Duke has been missing from Honeycomb Mesa, in Leander, since March 17th. He was originally in the company of another dog. That dog was found 3 miles away, off of Eagles Way, but Duke was not with him. Duke is afraid of storms and doesn't like to ride in cars. Please call 512-473-9458 or 512-986-1938 if you have any information that can help get Duke back home."

Beverly LunaDonna, keep "bumping" up your post to the top of the feed here and on the Leander site every 24 hours by making a comment. The comment can even just be "still missing" or "bump." We want to be reminded to keep looking for Duke.

Donna SchultzTwo different people said they saw him running in Liberty Hill. We've posted signs everywhere out there. I had a call this morning from North Creek but by the time I got there the dog was gone. Out was the second sighting of that one. He seems to be out right around when school starts so I'm going yup there tomorrow morning and hang out and see if I can spot him.

Emily RobbinsWhere was the other dog found? Check parks. My sisters dogs would always go straight to the park. Put flyers there. Send a picture and description to all the animal shelters that take dogs. Put flyers at near vets.
