****LOST PUP****
This is Rocko. He has been missing since last night 12/06/2016. He is about 5 months old and small for his age.He is a mostly fawn with blue brindle Pitbull with blue eyes. He is larger than these photos but these are the best ones I have. He is missing from the Tech Ridge/Yager and Copperfield area, North Austin. He is very friendly and likes to cuddle. He may play bite. He is friendly with other animals. He is not chipped or neutered, (that was going to happen this weekend) He looks skinny but dont be alarmed, thats how his build is, he eats I promise. He is wearing a red collar and a flea collar. I have also posted this on ND. Off to post on craigslist I go.

STILL LOOKING!

Lucky might be seen today by Mara Sta today.
Two Yorkies/ Yorkie mixes spotted! Almost ran them over :( tried to catch but they ran away behind someones property. Im kinda in the middle of nowhere. The number on the property that they ran behind says 16707 on a tree in front of a gate. However, my gps saved the location as being 16697 Weiss Ln, Pflugerville. Dont know genders and dont have photos.

My story:

My curly light brown hair 15 lbs Yorkie ran off on Nov 8th. Hes male and a recent rescue, not neutered, no chip. He is very nervous but completely harmless. It is very hard to catch him unless he chooses to come to you. If you see him, please call him Lucky and please contact me.

Date missing: 11.8.2016
Gender: Male
Breed: Yorkie 3 yo, 16 lbs
Name: Lucky
Microchipped: No
Contact: Hannah 512.923.8031
hannah_happy@yahoo.com
Temperament: Nervous, runs very fast, harmless. It is hard to catch him unless he chooses to come to you.

Emily ParksWas part of the search party just now. I started walking at the wood bridge (blue dot on map where Lucky was sighted an hour or so ago) by the duplexes on Running Bird off Cedar Bend and Metric. I walked the paved trail, which led back to Metric, then underneath the Metric bridge, and along Walnut Creek Trail. People on the trail and at the park/playground hadn't seen him. Lucky's last sighting was in an area that leads back to Metric and into Walnut Creek. Pls be on the lookout in that area. Edit: The assumption was that it was Lucky that was sighted, but it's possible it was another dog.

Just saw a loose dog limping down the sidewalk heading south on Burleson road from oltorf. Big (about the size of my 65 lb shepherd mix) tan, floppy ears, male, couldn't tell if he was neutered. Possibly golden/lab/shepherd mix? No collar. Not aggressive even with mine barking and growling at him, but not overly friendly either. Went into the street to avoid us, but made it back to sidewalk safely. Limping from left front. Sorry I didn't have my phone for a picture! This was about 9:15 on Tuesday morning. ... Tonight, one of our active members privately messaged me to ask me why I was willing to pay a reward to someone that was selling a found dog, and I think I should share my response with you all, since it was a topic of discussion.

I could not risk it.

Im only one person, and I cannot fight every fight. Sometimes, whats smart is playing the game and whats right is reuniting the family. This (essentially a ransom) is never what I would choose. I always want to educate first. But sometimes Im the one learning the lessons and going from there.

At the end of the day, the path I chose was the one that insured Van and Tommy were reunited with their only living family member. I have no regrets about the way I handled this and I wouldnt change a thing.

Its easy to play armchair quarterback, but what would you do if you only had one shot at getting YOUR family member back?

Helen Myslinski InghamAs much as I hate the idea of paying this person, I would have done the same if it was my dog and me trying to get him back. But, what if I didn't have that sort of money? Then would the police help? It is somewhat of a dark, shady area... it isn't really theft or blackmail. Or is it? I would still wish a wicked curse on the person, even after getting my pooch back. I just don't have the kindness when it gets to toying with a life.

Jackie DanaWhat you did was absolutely right. The woman who found the dog, however, should be ashamed of herself for her laziness and greed. Unless she gave that dog excellent veterinary care and spent a bunch of money on food and other things, I can't imagine how she could live with herself. That having been said, I am so pleased that the dog was reunited with his person and there's a happy ending. That's all that really matters. And I'm so grateful for everything you do to make these things happen. 🙂

Julie StaufferI often think people don't know what to do and don't want to take a dog or cat to the shelter for fear they will be put down. That fear overpowers their desire to find the owner. They don't see signs or postings and rationalize that no one must care about the dog. They r wrong but I can see how they might feel that way with all the stories of animals being put to sleep I would pay anything for my animals or kids, including my life. But can see both sides of the story. Thanks for saving if this family

We desperately need help posting on NextDoor for Ersten Fullers dog Abel who was lost Thursday night on a play date nowhere near where he lives. He went missing from Knight Circle which is near 51st and Berkman.

Is anyone in the Mueller NextDoor area near 51st and Berkman who can post for Ersten Fuller and Abel?

Also is anyone on NextDoor in the area around the Windsor Park neighborhood that covers Bartholemew Park who can post?

Thank you so much.

Heres the link to Erstens post.

Kathy MuelkerThere are 3 separate posts for this dog. Have you read the comments in each thread? Some members have posted on Nextdoor already. We need to delete some of the duplicate posts very soon. Too much confusion.

Repost from zilker list serve

Hello again Neighbors,
I'm trying to get the word out about this little girl I found today around noon at the corner of Kinney and Dexter in 78704. I think she is a Chihuahua, red in color and has a great disposition. I spent the day with her and she was a doll. She sat in my lap, was curious about new people including kids, didn't yap. She's got to belong to someone. Please spread the word and help me find the owner. Please forward on to other neighborhood sights and share on FB, etc if you can.
Thanks!

Erin BoyleInside only cats are almost always hiding nearby. Probably on your property or within 3-5 houses. Tell all your neighbors and put up big neon lost cat signs. Leave a window or door open to your house if possible for them to reenter. Put some of your dirty cloths outside so they can use them to smell their way home. Look under and in everything. Use a flashlight at night to look for eyes. Sometimes indoor only cats have to be trapped to catch them. It can take 7-14 days for them to come out of hiding and look for food. If they don't come home in the next few days then I would seriously consider hiring a pet detective.

Kathy MuelkerYou can make handwritten 'Lost Cat' signs and post those - with a description like 'male tabby cat with white paws.' Doesn't have to be fancy. It's more important to get them posted or distributed asap. Post a 'lost cat' ad on Craigslist in both of these Community sections: - Pets - Lost & Found

Kathy MuelkerDaniella - do you know if the microchip is a HomeAgain chip? Do you have the chip #? As Frank mentioned, it's very possible Austin Animal Center may have the chip # and owner info in their system. I also research unregistered chips - and can almost always track down the owner. Unregistered chips are very common around here, since the largest shelter does not register the chips they implant in all their animals. (The other smaller shelters in the area do register the chips.) If you have the chip, feel free to message it to me privately. Thank you. ~admin
