Johnny Manziel Sued For Allegedly Punching Austin Waiter

Former Texas A&M and Cleveland Brown’s quarterback Johnny Manziel is being sued.

According to a lawsuit filed by New York New York bar (East 6th St) employee Eric Newton, the Heisman Trophy winner broke his nose while attending a private party in September.

Citing court documents, The Dallas Morning News reports that Manziel allegedly “demanded” Newton make several drinks, which he could not do because he is on the waitstaff and not a bartender.

Additionally, someone from Manziel’s group apparently overheard Newton speaking to another customer who had asked about his opinion of Manziel. When Manziel heard what Newton said, he allegedly “came downstairs, ran behind the bar, cursed at Mr. Newton, and punched him in the face, breaking Mr. Newton’s nose,” the suit states.

Newton is seeking damages of $200,000 to $1 million.

This isn’t the first time Manziel has made headlines in Austin.

In 2014, TMZ reported that he was slinging drinks at Rooftop on Sixth, just two months before the NFL season started.

Then, in 2015, TMZ shared pictures and video of him partying at The Summit and Rio during the Cleveland Brown’s bye week.

Manziel may want to stop getting blitzed in Austin. Just saying.
