John Wesley Coleman is one of Austin’s most beloved artists. He recently released a new track titled “Shovel” off his upcoming album Microwave Dreams, set to drop in January. Bridging together a light folk sound with rock & roll roots, “Shovel” certainly sounds like a song that Austinites can get into if they aren’t familiar with Coleman. While his vocals are slightly difficult to hear in the mix, it is the instrumentation that stands out the most. Though “Shovel” isn’t straight forward pounding rock, its mission is to energize your soul with plenty of authenticity thrown in.
