Here’s How to Continue Easter Traditions While Quarantined

Easter is a special holiday and just because you’re staying home doesn’t mean your traditions need to be halted. In fact, you can pretty much do the same things you do every year. You’ll just have to put a little twist on things.

USA Today shared an article featuring seven ways to make the most of the holiday while in quarantine. Here they are.

Keep The Grandparents Involved

In addition to including grandparents in your day via factime, skype, or whatever platform you prefer, you can make a special doorstep delivery if they live close enough. Why not craft at deliver easter baskets to family and friends? Be sure to disinfect everything and stay at least six feet away when making deliveries.

Get Creative With Your Easter Egg Hunt

Depending on how you’ve done your egg hunts in the past, you may have to downscale this year. Perhaps move the hunt indoors or create a scavenger hunt leading your little ones to a big basket reveal. Adults can also get in on the fun, hiding eggs filled with love notes and post-quarantine date ideas.

Meet The Easter Bunny Online

Though the Easter Bunny is an essential job, it’s safer to keep our distance this year. Thanks to technology, it’s easier than ever to pay a visit online. An LA company called Send in the Clowns is offering personalized video messages from the Easter bunny. Or you could simply tell the kiddos that the bunny is too busy this year for pictures because he wants to make sure he has ample time to cheer up all the children in the world who are being safe at home. You can follow his adventures on this tracker from Do512.

Host An Easter Brunch Video Chat

We’ve all been using apps to create face-to-face interactions during this time of solitude, so this suggestion shouldn’t come as a surprise. Plan your dinner time with family and friends so you can still experience the meal together. And don’t downsize (unless you have to)! Set the table, use the good dishes, dig out those fancy napkin rings. Making it an event will take away a bit of the sting of things not being exactly like they’ve been in the past.

Go All Out With Easter Decorating

Decorating the house can be a fun activity to keep your kids occupied as well as put everyone in a festive spirit. Here are some DIY decoration ideas that you and the kids can make together.

Watch Easter Service On TV or Online

And if you prefer music after or instead of a church service, Andrea Bocelli is performing in an empty duomo cathedral on Sunday. The concert will stream live on his YouTube channel at 12 p.m.

Invent a New Easter Tradition

There have been a lot of first over the last month. Here’s your opportunity to have another one and make a good one. Embrace the difference of this year by adding a new tradition to your Easter celebration. Perhaps you can bake a new signature dessert, play a creative family game, or watch a film that you can re-watch for years to come.
