Here’s How To Have A Socially Distant Summer Date Night in Austin

Just because we’re having a socially distant summer doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a date day or night with your sweetie!

We asked Mariel Fernandez to share some date ideas with us. This two part fri-date starts with a hike and ends with a home cooked meal.

Being cooped up and working from home during the week, it’s a good idea to get out and get some nature therapy. Staying active together in days like these is important and vital in a relationship.

We started our day with a short hike through Barton Creek Greenbelt to beat the heat. Make sure you plan to head out early in the day so there aren’t too many people around yet!

We were so glad to be out enjoying some fresh air and dipping our hands in fresh running water. We would have taken a dip but we weren’t appropriately dressed for a swim. Next time…

You can learn more about some of the swimming holes on the Barton Creek Greenbelt here.

After spending the day getting some work done, we planned a home cooked meal and movie night with a couple in our neighborhood. If you have an outdoor space for entertaining, this is a great way to enjoy time with others while being socially distant outdoors. Now may even be the perfect time to invest in some kind of outdoor screen set-up or TV on your patio!
