Bluebonnets make their annual appearance each March, but it always seems to sneak up on us. One minute, we’re bundling up to keep warm, and seemingly the next, we’re rushing to find the perfect patch of bluebonnets for family pictures.

Austin photographer Sarah Siller and her fellow photography pros don’t let the wildflowers take them by surprise. They know when and how to make the most of the short Austin wildflower season.

Pro tips for your bluebonnet session

Now that you have a few places to go for that perfect family picture, here are a few dos and don’ts Siller wants you to know before you pose:

  • Keep an eye out for all the lovers of our beautiful bluebonnets including snakes, fire ants, and bees.
