Another Austin Pride is here and we can’t wait to celebrate! The theme for this year’s festival and parade is Boogie Wonderland. But those aren’t the only events where you can shake shake shake your booty and more. Here are some of the best Austin Pride events happening in 2019.

Second Chance Quince
Saturday, August 3 | from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.| Relay, 1023 Springdale Rd. Ste. 11A
Kick off Pride Week with Austin Pride and The Q Austin at our Second Chance QUINCE. Whether you had a Quince or not, this is your chance. Everyone can be a Quinceanerx for the night! Join for dinner, drinks, and dancing all night BUT WAIT! There’s more! Not one but TWO dance floors and an outdoor patio. A special Quince performance. Mariachis! The cake! Everything that makes a Quince a Quince but with a Queer twist to it all! What’s the dress code? Shades of BLUE! Why? PrEP!

Interfaith Celebration
Sunday, August 4 | from 4 to 5:30 p.m.| Temple Beth Shalom, 7300 Hart Ln.
This annual LGBTQIA+ inclusive event tradition is an official part of Austin Pride Week and features speakers from our LGBTQIA+ communities. 300+ attendees expected this year. Out at the Movie
Monday, August 5 | at 8 p.m.| Zach Scott, 202 S. Lamar Blvd.
Join Austin PRIDE at Zach Theatre for OUT at the Movie as PRIDE Week continues with a FREE screening of the comedy classic “The Birdcage.” Grab your lawn chairs and enjoy the movie outside in the courtyard of the Zach Theatre! Concessions will be available from Zach Theatre and Food Vendor Trucks brought in special for this event! This event is open to all ages and quoting along is encouraged. Movie starts at 8 but feel free to arrive early for a good seat and to grab a bite to eat!!

Out Youth Pride Week Celebration
Wednesday through Friday, August 7 through 9 | from 1 to 5 p.m.| Luxe Apothetique, 201 W. 2nd St.
Join Lux Apothetique and boss babe Emely Turish of Lux And Pups in celebrating Austin’s own Out Youth and LGBTQIA+ community! Pop in to the 2ND Street District – Austin, TX location August 5th-9th from 1pm-5pm to shop some of our favorite locally owned LGBTQIA+ businesses and enjoy mimosas, champagne, and cookies on us! 10% of sales during every pop up event will be donated to Out Youth! You’ll also have a chance to not only make donations through out the week but purchase donation raffle tickets for a chance to win an amazing prize package from some of our sponsors!

Community Night Spotlight LGBTQ Family Pride
Wednesday, August 7 | from 4 to 7:30 p.m.| Thinkery, 1830 Simond Rd.
During Community Night Spotlight evenings, Thinkery shines a light on a unique aspect of the rich diversity that makes Austin such an amazing place to live, play and learn with educational activities facilitated by staff and special community presenters. On August 7, join us for an official Austin Pride event; a playful family celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth, adults and families complete with our own mini-Pride parade! This event is for everyone! Admission is FREE, but donations are welcome!

The Austin Chronicle’s Qmmunity Summer of Pride Party
Wednesday, August 7 | from 6 to 9 p.m.| The Blanton Museum of Art, 200 E Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Join Qmmunity for The Austin Chronicle’s Summer of Pride Party, presented in partnership with Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Austin Pride, and The Blanton Museum of Art! Enjoy bites from El Alma Cafe, music by GirlFriend ATX, treats from Lick Honest Ice Creams, drinks by Treaty Oak Distilling, prizes, and a special chance to explore the new exhibition “Jeffrey Gibson: This Is the Day.”

Austin Pride Rainbow Skate
Wednesday, August 7 | from 7 to 10 p.m.| Playland Skate Center, 8822 McCann Dr.
Austin Pride takes over the Playland Skate Center on Wednesday, August 7, for the Pride Week Edition of Rainbow Skate!! Come out and have a blast at this event geared towards the LGBTQIA+ community!! Come out and skate with us and lets have a fun night! The DJ for the night is the Legendary Bigface!! All ages are welcome to attend, and since our theme for this year is “Boogie Wonderland”, wear your best Disco outfit!! Can’t wait to see you all there! Tickets are $9.00 per person and includes roller skate rental. Everyone must purchase a ticket to enter.

Pre-Pride Sparkle Party
Thursday, August 8 | from 5 to 8 p.m.| Coco Coquette, 2109 E Cesar Chavez St.
We are bringing the sparkle train from New Orleans to Austin to get everyone ready for a Pride-filled weekend. Party fashions from Fringe+co., Glitter from Elektra Cosmetics, complimentary libations from Dripping Springs Vodka, and an extra special party discount from Coco Coquette.

Official Pride Comedy Show
Thursday, August 8 | from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.| Velveeta Room, 521 E. 6th St.
9pm show sold out in two days, so they added a 10.30pm show. All-queer lineup! And it’s SUCH an amazing lineup! Tickets are $5 – the second show IS going to sell out too, so grab tickets now if you want to make your Pride even more happy 🙂 Proceeds being donated to Out Youth to help displaced LGBT+ kids be safe and supported.

Pride With A Purpose: Queer Asylum Seekers at US Border
Friday, August 9 | from 6 to 9 p.m.| Mexic-Arte Museum,  419 Congress Ave.

Since 2014, the U.S.-Mexico border has seen a surge in the number of people seeking protection from violence and insecurity in Central America. Among these are many queer folx, particularly trans women, who have experienced threats from both private actors and even the police. Because queer folx are at particular risk, they have greater need to seek safety in the U.S. Cristian Sanchez of RAICES will speak on his work with trans asylum seekers detained at GEO Group’s Pearsall facility. A RAICES client will share her story and why our action is necessary. An ACLU of Texas representative will then give national context.

Pride Bingo
Friday, August 9 | from 7 to 9 p.m.| Blue Owl Brewing
, 2400 E. Cesar Chavez St.
Blue Owl bingo night is back! Join the fun in honor of Austin Pride Parade & Festival. As always, it’s free to play and features fun Blue Owl prizes.
This time we’ll also have a sweet gift basket raffle with all proceeds benefitting Equality Texas.

Pride Festival
Saturday, August 10 | from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.| Fiesta Gardens, 2101 Jesse Segovia St.
$20 at the gate, discounted tickets available through Jan 15. For free entry, volunteer. Registration is open on Austin Pride website.

Pride Parade
Saturday, August 10 | from 8 10 11 p.m.| Texas State Capitol, 1100 Congress Ave.
Parade kicks off at the Texas State Capitol; marches down Congress Ave.; turns right on Fourth Street, and ends at Rain on 4th, 217 W Fourth St. Free.

“Brunch Out With Trevor” Drag Brunch
Sunday, August 11 | from 12 to 3 p.m.| Hotel Van Zandt, 605 Davis St.
Brunch for a cause at Hotel Van Zandt with a menu by the talented team at Geraldine’s and performances by RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar, Willam, Louisianna Purchase, Beatrix Lestrange, Boiz of Austin, Miss Shalae and Kelly Kline. 100% of the ticket sales and silent auction will go towards The Trevor Project’s mission to support LGBTQ youth.

Loud & Proud Pride Event in Rules and Regs
Sunday, August 11 | from 12 to 5 p.m.| Fairmont Hotel, 101 Red River St.
Say it loud, and say it proud, people! It’s time to dance your heart out to beats by Phamstar, and enjoy deliciously crafted cocktails and bubbles! Wear your brightest colors and happiest faces to show the world your pride. Open to the public to join in the fun!

W Austin “Let’s Get Soaking Wet Party”
Sunday, August 11 | from 12 to 8 p.m.| W Austin, 200 Lavaca St.
On August 11, celebrate PRIDE at W Austin’s “Let’s Get Soaking Wet” party, featuring drag performances and tunes from local DJs to cap off Austin’s notorious PRIDE celebrations.

Lez B In Touch – Dyke March
Sunday, August 11 | from 2 to 8 p.m.| Cheer Up Charlies, 900 Red River St.
The dyke party you love, now with more radical action.
This will be an inclusive Dyke March – Dykes, Dyke Lovers, Dyke Supporters and Dyke Allies welcome. Event hosted by the powerful and beautiful Nikki DaVaughn. DJs all day/ night.
