What if you could eat delicious pancakes and at the very same time help provide food to people in your community? Well, if you stop by Kerbey Lane Cafe over the next couple weeks and order their special pancake varieties, you’ll be doing just that.

Their “Cakes & Cash Drive” benefitting Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) is going on right now. From July 18th to 30th, Kerbey Lane is donating all proceeds from specialty pancake sales.

Kerbey pancake poster“We’re excited to put a fresh, new spin on our annual fundraiser for CTFB this year,” Kerbey Lane director of marketing Amanda Kuda told Austin.com. “Instead of asking our guests bring in canned goods, which required a lot of planning ahead for our guests and team, we’re simply asking them to buy our specialty pancakes with proceeds going to CTFB. We’re confident we can generate as much support — if not more — with this approach, and we hope to surpass last year’s donation amount.”

Kerbey Lane serves three specialty pancakes each week, including a vegan and a gluten-free option. This week, the specialty pancakes are the Elvis (peanut butter, bacon, and banana), Vegan Banana Pecan, and Gluten Free Banana Pecan. Next week, they feature Raspberry Lemon Chiffon, Vegan Raspberry Lemon Chiffon, and Gluten Free Lemon Poppy Seed. Customers will also be able to add a tax-free donation to the food bank to their bill at the end of their meal.

To cap off their annual fundraising effort, more than 60 Kerbey Lane employees will volunteer at CTFB the morning of Tuesday, August 2, and will present a check for the proceeds from the Cakes & Cash Drive. Helping Central Texans in need of food couldn’t be easier! All you have to do is chow down on pancakes.
