Tracy Goodwin with actors at Theater Place

Are you tired of how hard it is to communicate with your kids? Are you sick of the text talk? Internationally known communication trainer Tracy Goodwin can help! And she’s giving away one FREE admission to an upcoming workshop on public speaking for kids and teens: Public Speaking, It’s Like Texting, But NOT. This workshop is a $55 value.

Join Tracy as she teaches kids and teens to find their own voices (in a respectful way, of course!), and teaches them about the power and lifetime value of public speaking.

In this mini-course, Tracy will spend two hours teaching students how to find their voices; why it’s important to use their voices for life; the difference between voice and text; and why life requires that they know how to communicate both verbally and non-verbally (and what does that mean, anyway?). Participants will learn verbal and non-verbal tips and techniques to boot!

Tracy is all about speaking clearly, professionally, and with great respect for self and others. The skills your child or teen will learn in this workshop will resonate across every avenue of their world for years to come.

Workshops are held in downtown Austin, in the conference room at the Whitley Building (301 Brazos Street). A beautiful lounge awaits parents who would like to stay while students are working with Tracy, or drop-off is available as well. The workshops are recommended for ages 8 and up.

There are two workshop dates:
  • Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Sunday July 27 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Note that space is VERY limited, but a minimum number must be reached. If interested, you can sign up for one of the workshops online!

Catherine A. Morris is a writer as well as a once-and-future teacher, musician, jogger and triathlete living in southwest Austin, Texas. Yes, most of her former passions and pastimes have given way, at least for now, to her current, main passion and pastime: caring for her two kids, toddler Pearl and baby Zephyr. Pearl and Zeph make Catherine and her husband laugh (and cry) on a daily basis, and give Catherine plenty of good reasons to seek out free, fun activities to keep everyone alive, engaged and happy from one moment to the next.
