Giveaway: Fall Mini Session with Sarah Siller Photography

Have you ever gotten professional photos taken of your family for holiday cards? In the past, I had always taken my own pictures of my kids, but last year I decided to splurge and get a few shots of the whole family taken by professional photographer Sarah Siller. And let me tell you, the photos are amazing! I appreciate actually being in some pictures myself, since I’m usually the one holding the camera. Sarah has such a great eye for the perfect setting and lighting and managed to get both of my boys looking and smiling at the camera at the same time. Wizardry, I tells ya.

After seeing how well the pictures turned out last year, we decided to make it an annual tradition. But maybe something different this time? The fact that we live in such an amazing city with so many unique and fun settings for backdrops has inspired some out-of-the-box thinking. What’s the ultimate Austin experience and how can we proudly portray our passion for our city in the photo? When we send it out as our holiday card this year, we want it to tell all of our family and friends across the country, “Look at us! We LIVE here! Can you believe how much fun it is?!”

Humblebrag time. Yes, we do live in the coolest city in the world, thankyouverymuch. Why not boast your home town spirit with this Greetings From Austin postcard mural (1720 S 1st Street) in the background!

How cute is this?! It’s Abbey Road, Austin-style! So what if you have to stop traffic to get this shot? Just look at that gorgeous Capitol Building in the background! Worth it.

The Long Center (701 W Riverside Drive) and neighboring Butler Park (1000 Barton Springs Road) are the perfect spots to get a shot with the Austin skyline in the background. The top of Doug Sahm Hill in the park even has a large map of Texas your whole family could stand on for a photo with the skyline behind you. If you’re really daring, go in your swimsuits and stand in the Liz Carpenter Fountain wearing Santa hats!

I can’t even with this one. SUPing on Lady Bird Lake always makes for a cool photo, but that dog? In a Santa hat? Too. Much. Cute. For all you healthy and active animal lovers out there, this one’s for you!
