Giveaway: Austin’s Park n’ Pizza

If you have ever driven through Pflugerville with kids in the car, you have likely experienced some degree of begging to “pleeeease stop at the go-kart place!” That’s certainly a familiar chorus from my backseat, every time we pass Austin’s Park n’ Pizza on I-35

Austin’s Park does look pretty enticing from the highway. In addition to three outdoor go-kart tracks, there is also a Crazy Fire Chief ride, the Fiesta Roller Coaster, Samba Balloons, a batting cage, bumper boats, and mini golf.  And that’s just what’s on the outside of the 23-acre family entertainment center.

Head inside Austin’s Park and you will discover a 16,000-square-foot arcade, laser tag, a rock climbing wall, a carnival swing ride, skeeball, a moonwalk for young guests, the Little Shot ride, and of course, the all-you-can-eat buffetIn all, the Park offers 55,000 square feet of family fun.

Austin’s Park recently celebrated its 10th birthday by spending $1.5 million on renovations to the entertainment complex. They worked on improving every detail of the Park, from installing new carpet to adding fresh flowers in the restrooms. During this time, Austin’s Park sent in mystery shoppers and surveyed customers for feedback.  What they discovered was that the number one thing they still needed to work on was improving the food. Austin’s Park, striving to be first in entertainment and in pizza, took this to heart.

After developing several new pizza recipes, Austin’s Park brought in some expert eaters (i.e. starving bloggers and a certain television personality known for eating his way across Texas), and their kids, to taste test different crust options.   The kids, especially, were excited to offer their feedback, and took this job pretty seriously.

No biggie, just eating pizza with The Daytripper.
Determined to give honest opinions, I tried four different kinds of pizza (and then another six during a live cooking competition!). We were asked to rate the texture, crust, style and taste of each. We had a tremendous amount of fun and the pizza – including the gluten-free options – was all quite yummy.

I’m not sure which of the many new pizza options will make the cut, but I think if you visit Austin’s Park in the future, you will find their buffet offerings much improved.  We certainly enjoyed a nice lunch and dinner during our visit.

Austin’s Park n’ Pizza would like to offer one lucky Free Fun in Austin reader four free passes to visit (a $100 value)!
