Free Renewable Energy Camps

During the Summer, Austin Community College will host a one-week Basic Renewable Energy Camp and a one-week Advanced Renewable Energy Camp. To qualify for the Advanced Renewable Energy Camp, participants need to be proficient in Algebra and have a demonstrated interest in Renewable Energy. Both camps are open to underserved Austin area 9th-11th grade students and will be hosted at the ACC Riverside Campus. The Renewable Energy Camp will expose students to hands-on science through the exploration of solar, wind, and geothermal energy.


Basic: July 8-July 12, 2013, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Exploring the field of renewable energy during Austin Community College’s Basic Renewable Energy Camp shows you how new energy sources can help save the world. Students get hands-on learning experience in the areas of solar, wind, and geothermal energy.


Parents of participants are required to attend one of the Parent Orientations, which will be held on May 23rd at 6 p.m. (room 8500 at the Eastview campus) and May 25th 9:30 a.m. (room 8100 at the Riverside campus).
 
This camp is free, so register early to get a spot

Advanced: July 29-August 2, 2013, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
