An estranged family reunites to deal with an invalid father, mental illness, terminal cancer, and the buried guilt of long separation.
Trinity Street Players presents Scott McPherson’s dramatic comedy Marvin’s Room at Trinity Street Theatre, located at 901 Trinity Street in downtown Austin.
Marvin’s Room is the winner of the 1992 Outer Critics Circle Award, and was later adapted for film in 1996.
This seriocomic play speaks greatly to the importance of family, no matter the destructive forces that exist within – to endure, care for each other, and stay together. The play’s dark comedy provides encouragement, even in the face of imminent death.
Marvin’s Room is co-directed by Cathy Jones and Sarah Zeringue. A strong ensemble cast includes Peggy Schott, Linda Miller Raff, Nicholas Bradford, Max King, Laurie Coker, Daniel Norton, Ken Ramsey, and Miriam Rubin.
Performances are April 4-6, and April 11-13; Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
