Free Opera at the Library

Free OperaBased on Austin Opera’s successful education program, Opera Treasure Chest, Austin Opera singers will perform and explain opera to children ages 5 and up at Austin Public Library branches around Austin.

Throughout the month of June, children will experience what it’s like to hear an opera singer up close, as well what goes into putting on an opera production. Repertoire will range from classical selections from Mozart to more contemporary works sung in English.
