KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove is back this Thursday with a performance by The Warren Hood Band. Warren Hood began playing the fiddle at age eleven and has won a string of awards and accolades since then. With high praise from Lyle Lovett and many other notable music veterans, his band has been in high demand at music festivals across the country this year. Nutty Idol Kasual Karaoke

Movies in the Park: Raising Arizona
Presented by Alamo Drafthouse in partnership with Austin Parks and Recreation, this week’s FREE movie in the park feature is the cult classic Raising Arizona. Austin Astronomical Society Meeting
Interested in space travel? Wondering how to find water when you get there? You’re in luck! Dynamic presenter, William A. Ambrose, will be delivering an educational and entertaining presentation as part of the Austin Astronomical Society’s monthly meeting series. Enjoy some stargazing and learn a thing or two! Hill’s Cafe is kicking off their FREE Friday music series with the Bottom Dollar String Band this Friday 7-9pm. The band is described as an “energetic five-piece bluegrass band that bridges old-time string band music with contemporary originals rooted in the bluegrass traditions of telling stories through song of whiskey, romance, life and death.” (Hill’s Cafe, 4700 South Congress, Austin)

Rattletree Marimba at Central Market North Lamar
A mash-up between African-style marimba and live electronica, Rattletree Marimba is all about making you want to dance. Bring your dancing shoes and a picnic to this one of a kind FREE show. Music begins at 6:30pm on the patio and lasts until 9pm. (Central Market North Lamar, Austin)

While this might not be at the top of your man’s list, this FREE exhibition is a must-see for avid movie buffs. Celebrating 75 years, you’re invited on a tour behind-the-scenes of the landmark film “Gone With the Wind.” With costumes, paintings, photographs and more, the exhibit chronologically tells the story of the production through the 12th annual Academy Awards where the film became the first to win more than five Oscars. Hours for the exhibit are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.Thursday and noon to 5 p.m.Saturday and Sunday. SURE THING Comedy Show
SURE THING comedy show at the original Austin Java, 8pm. Headliners include performers seen on Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, Letterman, and more, as well as the city’s best comics on the rise, plus special out-of-town guests.
