Thursday
The Future of Folk at Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz (320 E 6th St, Austin, TX 78701). 
Touted as “the best cult movie you’ve never heard of,” you will be able to catch a special screening, live performance, and Q&A with the stars all for FREE just by RSVP’ing with the crew at do512. I’m guessing this one will fill up fast, so arrive early (starts at 7pm) and be sure to bring you very own Hondoian Space Helmet!

Unplugged at The Grove: Emily Bell

KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove is back this Thursday with a special performance by Emily Bell. She brings bluesy rock n’ roll with a touch of sass and Shady Grove provides drink specials while you enjoy the free concert. Please note, additional free parking is available at Bicycle Sports Shop and at the southeast corner of Barton Springs & Lamar. Show starts at 8pm 1624 Barton Springs Rd. Austin, TX 78704.

Friday
Soul Track Mind will be playing a FREE concert at Central Market North Lamar. Known for their old school blues and soul inspired retro-dance rhythms, Soul Track Mind is celebrating their feature on the cover of Texas Music magazine. Their infectious grooves will definitely put a smile on your face and a swing in your step. Show starts at 6:30pm and takes place at 4001 North Lamar. 

Saturday

Anne Siems : Flora and Fauna – New Work Art Gallery Opening Reception from 6 to 8pm. Love the arts? Stop by the Wally Workman Gallery on 1202 West 6th Street Austin, Texas 78703 for the opening reception of Anne Siems, a German born and Seattle based artist whose work is heavily influenced by her youth, nature, and the mystical aspects of life and death. Parking is available in the front lot as well as the lot behind the gallery, accessed from the alley off Blanco and Harthan St. Unrestricted street parking is available on Blanco St. and parking is allowed after 7pm on Harthan St.


Sunday

Austin Symphony Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park: Brass. If you haven’t had a chance to catch the Austin Symphony at the Long Center, you’re running out of time to enjoy this musical treat. August is the last month for the event so pack up your sweetheart, a yummy picnic, and head over the Long Center lawn at 7:30pm for a little bit of romance. Free parking is available at One Texas Center located on Barton Springs Rd. @ S. 1st St. Paid parking is available at the Palmer Garage for $7.


All Weekend
The 56th annual Zilker Summer Musical: Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!
One of the greatest cowboy/farm girl love stories of our time, the classic tale will be brought to life in all its musical, dance, and sing-along glory at the Beverly S. Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theatre, Thursday thru Sunday at 8:30pm, through August 16th, and is always FREE
