KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove is back this Thursday with a performance by Crooks. This outlaw country band has people talking. Fans include Texas Monthly who raved about their wide appeal, “Crooks is also reaching underground rock and roll fans with a rueful, hard-edged, and authentic country sound that also flirts with bluegrass, garage, Tejano, mariachi, and Southern rock.” Please note, additional free parking is available at Bicycle Sports Shop and at the southeast corner of Barton Springs & Lamar. Improv Zero: Free Intro to Improv Class
Interested in taking an improv class? Want to test drive it first? Head out to The New Movement 6:30 to 7:30pm this Thursday for a FREE Improv class. They will walk you through beginner exercises and bullet points of what comprises an improv education with their conservatory. They go over the basics of what makes improv unique and you get a chance to meet the teachers. Grab a few friends, try it out, and stick around for the fun shows afterwards. Nutty Brown Cafe: Patton Sparks Band
As part of the KOKE FM FREE Concert Series at Nutty Brown Cafe, The Patton Sparks Band will be playing 7-10pm. This gritty Southern Rock band has been playing venues around Texas for several years and has developed a strong grass roots following. Sure Thing: Austin’s Free Comedy Show
SURE THING is a FREE weekly showcase at the original Austin Java, every Saturday at 8pm.
