Free First Sunday at Bullock Museum: All About Energy

On Sunday, June 6, 2014, the Bullock Museum will host Free First Sunday!  Exhibit admission will be free from 12 – 6 p.m. From 12 – 3 p.m., stop by to learn all about energy. Then, at 3 p.m., stay for a free screening of the Disney movie Homeward Bound.


All About Energy – Sunday, July 6, from noon to 3 p.m.; FREE

Find out why energy matters and participate in hands-on science experiments.

Discover the wonders of magnetism, potential and kinetic energy, and experience the thrills of Newton’s laws with Mad Science hands-on science stations.

Find out how to help the environment with Take Care of Texas, a statewide campaign from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Explore the power of the sun and create a sun print art and experiment with solar power.

Join Story Time at 2 p.m., with stories and a special art project for preschoolers.


Free Family FilmHomeward Bound – Sunday, July 6, 3 p.m.; FREE

After soaking up science during Free First Sunday, stay for the Family Film Series. On July 6, the Bullock Museum and the Austin Film Festival present Homeward Bound. Follow three loyal pets as they escape from a California ranch to be reunited with their owners in this Disney favorite. 


Special Guest: Screenwriter Caroline Thompson will participate in a Q&A with the audience.
