Wednesday

  • Free Concert: Texas Radio Live – Wednesday, June 17 from 6-8:00 p.m. Texas Radio Live brings you the very best Texas music with performances from Texas musicians.   • Third Thursday at The Blanton – Thursday, June 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In addition to offering free admission, The Blanton is open late and offers a variety of activities from yoga to live music.   • Nature Nights: Pollinators – Thursday, June 18 at 6-9:00 p.m. Birds, bats, bees, butterflies, and more. Learn all about pollinators. There will be a presentation by Bat Conservation International, Travis Audubon will be teaching about hummingbirds, and the Austin Butterfly Forum will be there too. The United States alone grows more than 100 crops that either need or benefit from pollinators, and the economic value of these native pollinators is estimated at $3 billion per year in the U.S. (The Wildflower Center will be FREE all day on Thursday, starting at 10 a.m.) FREE! Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 4801 La Crosse Ave, Austin.
  • Free Play: Henry the Fourth Part 1 – Thursday, June 18, Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20 at 8:00 p.m. Shake out your picnic blankets for a night of Shakespeare under the stars. William Shakespeare’s Henry the Fourth will be performed with minimal props, costumes, and lighting, focusing on storytelling and the rich language of Shakespeare. Performed by a cast of 12 actors, most portraying multiple roles, Henry the Fourth concludes at a brisk two hours. FREE! Ramsey Park, 4301 Rosedale Ave, Austin.
  • Free Play: The Hound of the Baskervilles (Round Rock) –Thursday, June 18, Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20 at 8:00 p.m. Penfold Theatre Company presents a hilarious new stage adaptation The Hound of the Baskervilles. No reservations are necessary, just bring a blanket or low chairs and enjoy the outdoor play.   • Chef’s Club Summer Sizzle Cook-Off – Sunday, June 21, from 3-6:00 p.m. Celebrate Father’s Day with a FREE event for the whole family. Stop by for a pop-up kids cooking lesson, watch the best kid cooks in Austin sizzle during a cook-off, grab a goodie bag with coupons and food samples, and listen to live music.   • Austin Symphonic Band: Father’s Day in the Park – Sunday, June 21, from 7:30–9:00 p.m. ASB celebrates dads with this annual concert at the Zilker Hillside Theater. Marches, patriotic melodies, and other familiar works are the order of the day – selections that will have Dad’s toe tappin’ (program here). Bring a picnic basket and spread out a blanket under the pecan trees. FREE! Zilker Hillside Theater, 2201 Barton Springs Rd, Austin. This event has been canceled due to the weather.
  • Austin Symphony Hartman Foundation “Concerts in the Park” – Sunday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m. Each Sunday, a different ensemble of the Austin Symphony will be featured at the Hartman Park, located on the grounds of the Long Center, performing music from jazz and light classical to pops selections and film scores. For Father’s Day, you can enjoy Big Band music (program here). Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner and blanket and make it a group outing. FREE! Long Center, 701 W.
