Valentine Playtime

Bring your little sweeties to Round Rock Public Library for an early literacy playtime featuring Valentine-themed activities, cookies, and a Valentine-sharing event for children to enjoy alongside their caregivers. Each child should bring 20 Valentines to give to other children at the party. Please encourage your child to sign or initial his cards–this is a great opportunity to practice writing letters. The free, come-and-go activity is best enjoyed by ages 18 months and older. Attending children must preregister online. Accompanying parents do not need to preregister. FREE!
Early Valentine’s Gift Market & International Dance Showcase
Wednesday, February 10 from 5 p.m. to Midnight | Russian House, 307 E 5th St, Austin
You will be treated to performances by diverse cultural dance groups, some accompanied by live bands, with costumes that are a show in themselves. You’ll also have the opportunity to shop with a dozen local artisans for something special for your Valentine — jewelry, clothing, natural body products, more. Youth Valentine’s Dance
Thursday, February 11 from 5:30-7 p.m. | Metz Recreation Center, 2407 Canterbury Street, Austin
Elementary school age children are invited to dance the afternoon away at Metz Rec Center! They will crown Metz King and Queen, ages 9-12, and Prince and Princess, ages 4-8, for 2016. The first 50 girls will receive a flower. All children will receive a hot dog, chips and drink. Door prizes will be given. FREE!
Hands On History

The second Saturday of each month, the museum hosts an interactive activity where children can get up close and personal with the history of the county, learning something new and creating their own artifact.
