The Art of Celebration
February 3 from 6:30-9 p.m.  |   Art for the People Gallery, 1711 S 1st St, Austin
It’s 2017! Celebrate and support the Arts! Discover the exhibition known as Art of Celebration, co-created by Art for the People and Austin Blanks. Explore the power of twenty-one artists and their unique interpretation of celebration. A percentage of sales will be given away to support local art nonprofits Hope Outdoor Gallery and Share Art Heal. Admission is FREE.

2017 Food+City Challenge Prize Showcase Day

The Food+City Challenge Prize is an international startup competition that encourages innovation in the urban food system. Finalists compete for a $50,000 purse and a sweet package of products and services for business startups. The eighteen finalists in the 2017 competition hail from nine different countries. Meet the entrepreneurs as you explore their booths and watch the top 10 finalists deliver their best three-minute fast pitch to compete for the Prize. Sunday Funday: The Pop-Up Book

Sunday Fundays at the Neill-Cochran House Museum feature historically-inspired activities for children, scavenger hunts in the historic house, and informal tours of the museum. Movable image books date back at least to the 18th century, but they were not mass produced until 1930. By designing and building your own pop up, you’ll get to think a little bit about the know-how it took to bring these familiar childhood books into our homes and lives – and have fun being creative, too! Staff and volunteers will be available to help with designs and pop-up book making, and there will also be pre-made pop-ups that younger kids can decorate and take with them.  FREE!

Every second Saturday of the month, The Contemporary Austin offers hands-on art-making workshops at Laguna Gloria, inspired by the exhibitions on view. See family-friendly performances, meet local artists, and make art to take home. Recommended for ages 2–11. Drop in and create for FREE! Get lost in an immersive paper world inspired by Monika Sosnowska: Habitat! Be amazed by what paper can do as you create a three-dimensional work of art with this extraordinary material. Snow Day at Wolf Ranch

The Nurture My Child Camp Fair is a friendly, community focused event designed to help parents select the right summer camp for their children ages 4-18. Free activities for kids, giveaways, plus FREE admission and parking. More than 70 camps will be featured, including Spring and Summer day camps and overnight camps.
