Austin’s own T. Bird & The Breaks are celebrating the release of their third album, HARMONIZM, with an in-store event at Waterloo Records at 5pm. KUTX premiered the first single from the album, “Justine” which led to a sold out residency at C-Boys Heart & Soul this past September. Little Brave and Friends at Buzz Mill

Singer, songwriter, and artist, Little Brave will be warming the crowd from 8-10pm at Buzz Mill. Her eclectic, folk-rock sound is perfect for relaxing with a hot toddy and unwinding from the chaos of the week. The show is FREE! (Buzz Mill, 1505 Town Creek Drive, Austin) 

Soul Thursdays at the Blackheart

Deep Eddy will be showcasing live music, food trucks, and drink specials the last weekend of each month. This Friday, Dawn and Hawkes will take the stage at 4pm. Spring Season Opening Reception 

Join a night of celebration at the debut of “Inquiry: Department of Art and Art History Faculty Exhibition / Assembly / Collection / Assortment.” From 6-8pm, viewers/listeners/ readers will be provided with insight and new avenues for accessing the work of the UT Department of Art and Art History’s renowned and diverse faculty. Mayeaux and Broussard headline Hill’s Cafe this Friday. This country, blues, and Americana band is one of Austin’s own and frequently opens for the great Ray Benson. FREE music from 7-9pm. (Hill’s Cafe, 4700 South Congress Ave, Austin)

Gallery Opening Reception at the MACC 

The upcoming exhibit at the Mexican American Cultural Center will feature works from artists Jaime Arredondo, a New York resident, and Paul Del Bosque of Austin, Texas. Arredondo’s paintings will hang in the Sam Z. Coronado Gallery. Bosque’s 19 charcoal drawings entitled “Estos Little Saint Cards” will be in the Community Gallery. Grand Opening of Deep Eddy’s “Live at the Distillery”

Beginning in 2015, Deep Eddy is showcasing live music, food trucks, and drink specials the last weekend of each month. This Saturday, jazz grass band Milk Drive Trio will take the stage at 3pm. (Deep Eddy Distillery, 2250 E Hwy 290, Dripping Springs)

7th Annual FREE Day of Dance

Celebrating its 7th year, Austin’s Free Day of Dance offers free dance classes all over the city and surrounding areas. Whether you’re interested in learning two-step with your partner, finally trying out bellydancing, or taking a class with girlfriends- there’s something for everyone! Drawing Salon at Elisabet Ney

Embrace your inner artist this month and join in the drawing fun at Elisabet Ney! Using the Museum’s sculptural works as inspiration, participants will develop observational and conceptual skills through unique drawing exercises. The Museum will provide all required materials, and trained staff members will offer constructive advice and guidance. Participation is FREE each Saturday this month from 10am – 12pm.
