Date Night at the DAC: Salsa
Wednesday, December 18 | from 7 to 9 p.m. | Dougherty Arts Center, 1110 Barton Springs Road

Shake off that holiday stress with a little bit of salsa! Enjoy a free salsa dance lesson from a professional instructor with live music and tasty snacks. You are sure to leave with a little more spice and sass in your step and a smile on your face. Parking at the DAC is free but limited. There is parking available at the Palmer Event Center. In addition, there are parking options available off Riverside Drive and Lee Barton Drive. We also want to encourage all our friends to drive safely, or better yet catch a taxi, ride share, bus, or bike!

Friends of Riverside Presents: Movies on the Hill – Christmas Edition

Join for Movies on the Hill series featuring the movie Elf. This Christmas-themed event will get you in the right mood just before the holidays! Bring your human and furry friends, family and enjoy some hot chocolate and popcorn while watching a free Christmas movie under the moonlight, with one of the best views of the Austin Skyline! They provide the space, the movie, hot chocolate, and popcorn and you bring your own blankets, lawn chairs, pillows, or whatever you need to have a comfortable experience.

Die Hard Free Outdoor Screening

Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to a free movie night at Community First! Village. Grab chairs and a blanket, bring family and friends, and enjoy this special screening. Come explore Community First! Village, pick your spot, and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grill. SPECIAL THEMED MENU will feature DIE HARD themed dishes! Burgers, french fries, snacks, and drinks will be available for purchase (cards only, cash no longer accepted). The event is free, however a $5 donation would be highly appreciated.

Holiday Music Bingo

Santa’s Survival Hike (Lockhart)

Think you have survival skills? Test your knowledge and embark on a winter adventure to meet the jolly man himself! Join a ranger on a hike through the woods in search of Santa! To find him, test your skills and learn about surviving in the wild. After your adventure, take a picture with Santa with the woods as your backdrop. All ages welcome! Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Bring water. The hike is 3/4-mile on moderate terrain. No registration required. Meet your guide at the Creekview Trailhead. If driving from park headquarters, take your first left-hand turn, pass the campgrounds, and park along the paved loop. This program is free with entry to the park. Regular park entrance fees are $3/adult, free for children 12 & under.

Rock the Winter!

Easy Tiger Winter Movie Series

Hill Country Galleria Holiday Village

Hill Country Galleria will host a Holiday Village on the lawn, starting on Saturday, November 23 and extending through the month of December, where guests can walk the decorated walkways and shop for gifts and goods like custom gifts, ornaments, seasonal coffee and cocoa, mulled cider, toys, spices, and apothecary goods from holiday vendors, such as CiMi Shine, ATX Wood Crafts, Grace & Charm, and more. Guests can also enjoy holiday entertainment like carolers and local dance and choir performances. Santa’s Workshop will also be open within the Holiday Village starting November 24 for guests to meet Santa and get special keepsake photos taken. See Hill Country Galleria’s website for their full schedule.
