Triplane Comedy Show

Austin comedy corpses Kath Barbadoro, Joe Hafkey, and Mac Blake are starting up a new FREE show, Triplane! The lineup for their debut at 8 pm includes Chris Cubas (@midnight, Doug Loves Movies), Ralph Hardesty (Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Greetings from Queer Mountain), Christina Parrish, and Nick Saverino. Hill Country Galleria Wine Walk

Love wine and the holidays? Stop by the HCG to take in the holiday decorations and sample fine wine while you stroll. Start at Twin Liquors to pick up a map to guide you on the walk. Keep your map with you as your ticket for each stop. Hill Country Galleria shopping bags filled with exclusive offers will also be available to Wine Walk participants. Event is 5-9 pm. December Crafts and Cocktails – Handmade Wrapping Paper

Join Jennifer Perkins at TOMS Austin, Thursday at 7 pm. Crafters will be supplied with everything they need to make custom wrapping paper. Feel to bring a gift or two that you need to wrap. There will be paint, stamps, box makers and more to use. Plus fun washi tape, yarn to make pom poms. FREE cocktails will be provided by Dripping Springs Vodka.  This is an amazingly fun and FREE event, but please RSVP on Facebook and tip your bartenders. Buda Trail of Lights

Celebrate the holiday spirit with a low-key and cozy trail of lights in downtown Buda. The event is FREE and there will be entertainment, a toasty fire, and concessions for purchase. Free parking and shuttle from Cabela’s parking lot. The Trail will be open Friday and Saturday, from 6-10 pm nightly. (Stagecoach Park, 880 Main Street, Austin)

Little Mikey and the Soda Jerks

Horse Drawn Carriage Rides at The Domain

Jitterbug Vipers at C-Boys Heart & Soul

The Jitterbug Vipers specialize in a beloved cult jazz offshoot called “viper jazz,” a screeching U-Turn back to the party where jazz music packed the dance floor and dazzled the audience with brilliant streams of improvisatory musicianship. This musical heritage pulls from the cherished musicality of Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway, and Slim Galliard. Show is FREE and starts at 6:30 pm. The Art of Star Wars at Art on 5th

ART on 5th will be hosting an exhibition of Star Wars artwork by four official Disney artists: James Coleman, Rob Kaz, Allison Lefcort, and Rodel Gonzalez. The show will include original paintings as well as hand-embellished giclees of your favorite characters and scenes from these iconic films. This is the first time this body of work has been exhibited in Austin. Visit the gallery on Friday or Saturday, from 7-10 pm. Rob Kaz and Allison Lefcort will be painting in the gallery LIVE, during both evening events. There will also be cocktails from Bombay Sapphire. Big As Texas Short Film Festival

The first annual Big As Texas Short Film Festival happens at the Southwest Theaters – Lake Creek beginning at 10 am. There are 5 blocks of local and international films screening throughout the day, with the awards presentation beginning at 9:15 pm, hosted by Brittany Flurry and James Leary (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Many filmmakers will be in attendance, including nominated filmmakers from around the world. The event is FREE, but you must arrive early to secure your seat, as filmmakers and invited guests will get first priority seating. WE RUN THIS Stand-Up Showcase

The very first WE RUN THIS stand up and storytelling showcase is kicking off Saturday with the mesmerizing stylings of Eric Nagurney, Devon Walker, Sara June, JT Kelley, and Kerri Lendo. FREE show starts at 8pm. (The Blackheart, 86 Rainey Street, Austin)

SURE THING Comedy at Austin Java Parkway

Founded in 2012, SURE THING has grown to become Austin’s most popular and acclaimed stand-up showcase. Martin Urbano (Little Miss Comedy Pageant, Damn Dirty Filthy Show) headlines SURE THING Saturday, with Katie Stone, Bryson Brown, Allen Edwin Butt, and Brooklyn’s Michael Albanese.  The FREE show starts at 8 pm and doors open at 7:30 pm.
