Movies in the Park: Best in Show

Grab your date, a furry friend, and a blanket and head out to Northwest District Park for an outdoor screening of Best in Show. The FREE movie starts at 8 p.m. Dogs, picnics and lawn chairs are welcome. Alcoholic beverages, glass and styrofoam are not permitted in the park. They do provide recycling bins, but ask that you help out by packing out all of your own trash. Smoking is also prohibited in the park, per city law. South Congress First Thursday

On the First Thursday of every month, shops along South Congress (generally from Riverside Drive to Mary) stay open late, until about 10:00 p.m. Some the stores have specials, sales, give out drinks, and some of the restaurants and bars have drink specials, as well. All and all it has the feel of a block party – a block party at its finest! Local vendors are also in attendance and you can find anything from handcrafted jewelry, art, and clothes to unique Austin artifacts. In the midst of all the other attendees, you will see local musicians playing their greatest hits – it really combines everything our city is about! (SoCo, Austin)

Thursday Night Fright Night at Jo’s Coffee: A Nightmare on Elm Street 2

Fright Night’s at Jo’s are baaaackkkk! Join them every Thursday in October for your favorite scary movie classics on the back deck, as well as food and drink specials each Thursdays. Red River Tailgate at Treaty Oak Distillery

Watch the Longhorns take on the Oklahoma University Sooners with your friends at the Treaty Oak Brewing and Distilling Ranch.
