Fossil Fest in Round Rock

Learn about the fossils in your backyard! The Paleontological Society of Austin is sponsoring the 24th Annual Fossil Fest at Old Settlers Association Headquarters in Round Rock on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Admission to Fossil Fest is $3.00 for adults, $2.00 for students, and FREE for children under 6. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of event. Cash only.

Fossil Fest is a fun and educational event for the whole family! 

Activities include:

  • Show Spotlight: Discover Ice Age Texas!
  • Guest Speaker: “Fossils Talk – Hear their Stories”
  • Fossil Identifications
  • Opportunity to interact one-on-one with a UT scientist, science educators and knowledgeable PSoA members for hands-on learning and demos
  • Mini-workshops: Learn how plants and animals fossilize; create a make and take craft
  • “Paleo Passport” educational quest to fully explore displays, exhibits and activities
  • Hands-on Fossil Touch Table and microscope
  • Educational Exhibits: See what amateur fossil collectors in Texas find
  • Start your own fossil collection at the Wheel of Fossils and Fossil Dig Pit
  • Fossils, minerals, jewelry, books, unique gifts, toys
  • Hourly door prizes
  • Onsite snack bar serving Torchy’s Tacos for breakfast and lunch along with pizza, snacks and beverages. Prices range from $.50 to $3.75. Cash only.
