Stay Black & Live: Juneteenth Weekend Festival

Stay Black & Live (SB&L) is a weekend-long celebration hosted by CarverMuseumATX and Six Square that takes place on June 18th and 19th.

This marks the third iteration of Stay Black & Live Juneteenth celebration that launched in 2020. The weekend is full of free family oriented activities, music, games, and more .



Radio personality, community advocate, and Pflugerville City Council Member, Kimberly Holiday will serve as master ceremonies on Saturday, June 18th from 11:00 am – 4:00pm. Musical performances will kick-off at Noon. Line-up details to be announced.

Attendees can learn about African-American genealogy courtesy of NOVELLA MEDIA, LLC, experience guided tours of the museum and community garden, or attend a quilt-making workshop hosted by the National Council of Negro Women.

Complimentary food prepared by a coalition of professional Austin-based chefs will be made available to the first 300 attendees.



On Sunday, June 19th from Noon – 9pm, SB&L will turn-up the volume with a day long mini-music festival hosted by Riders Against the Storm. Our line-up includes: Ivy Rootz, Charmin Green, Mama Duke, WC Clark, Stretch Musik, Chakeeta B, Teeta, DJ Eli Arbor, DJ Bad Apple, and Quentin and the Past Lives.

Join us on the freedom lawn from noon to dusk and munch on delicious food served up by some of Austin’s best Black-owned food trucks.
