The Festival, which kicks off October 18 and runs through November 5, 2023, is a three-week celebration of Austin’s urban forest and the pollinators, plants and animals who call it home. Over 60 family-friendly, free public community events are happening all over the City!
Each Roots & Wings Festival event is wonderfully unique. Attendees can look forward to creek walks, educational presentations by naturalists, themed activities, arts and crafts, kid’s tree climbs, scavenger hunts, and even a boat ride to view Austin’s bats! The fun-filled gatherings are often enjoyed by participants who take part while wearing fabulous, nature-inspired costumes.
