Event Navigation

In communities across the country, people are feeling the impact of the rise in suicide numbers. A recent report from the CDC revealed a 25% increase in suicide rates across the US in the last 20 years. Recognizing the warning signs for suicide, the resources available to help and a better understanding of how to talk about suicide can help in responding to this rise.
Join NAMI Austin and Dr. Elizabeth Truong for an informative presentation focused on understanding suicide, the recent CDC data and learning more about the best practices in addressing suicide. You’ll leave with concrete tools on how to recognize signs someone may be need help, how to ask about suicide and what steps to take after having these difficult but potentially life-saving conversations. Bring your questions to this interactive session about this growing public health concern.
