Emman LeGrande & The African Rhythmix
Born and raised in Kinshasa, DR Congo (Zaire), EMMAN LEGRAND lived in Belgium before coming to the United States. In many ways, EMMAN LEGRAND is a prototype World Beat artist, an heir to a varied culture background and wide ranging musical experience in Africa, Europe, and the United States. He freely combines various musical influences in his music, making him one of the most revolutionary musicians to come out the Ndombolo music scene. EMMAN LEGRAND is intimately involved with the songwriting, arranging, and producing on his recordings. This is in market contrast to the situation of many male vocalists in Africa who are often expected to follow the dictates of an outside producer. As a result, EMMAN LEGRAND is beginning a new revolution as a leading light of Congolese music.
Led by Ibrahim Aminou, is the house band for Sahara Lounge’s Saturday Africa Night and takes the stage at midnight and rocks the house until 2am.
