8-9:30 Deuce Eclipse
10-11:30 Huerta Culture
*Deuce Eclipse (Bay Area, California) aims to create an open universal sound he describes as “Freedom Style” or “Indigenous Noise.” He draws influence from both his Nicaraguan heritage as well as from the culture of American Hip-Hop he grew up with. He raps fluidly in both English and Spanish before launching into hyper-emotive soul-singer mode for impassioned songs about his family and heritage. https://www.facebook.com/DEUCE-ECLIPSE-174173433354/?fref=ts and http://Deuceeclipse.com/
*Huerta Culture plays dance music for parties. The band mixes cumbia, ska, reggae, hip-hop, blues, rock, and balkan influences to create a sound that has been dubbed ‘psichocumbia’. With 4 singers in the band sometimes all switching verses throughout a song and singing in English, Spanish, and Quechua (an indigenous language of Bolivia), Huerta Culture keeps arrangements dynamic and eclectic. The phat bass and rhythmic keys are accompanied by a wizard trumpet. Some songs also feature the guacharaca and the Andean pan pipes. https://www.facebook.com/HueRTa-CuLTuRe-197447283628439/?fref=ts
*Zoumountchi plays a blend of traditional West African Music, Afrobeat, Afropop, and Reggae. Traditional instruments such as the djembe, the balafon, and the kora are featured together with the modern drum set, the electric bass, the sax, the flute, and the trumpet. Zoumountchi is founded on the principles of Positive Psychology. “We are a Movement of People who believe that we can shape our life and maximize happiness!” https://www.facebook.com/zoumountchiband/ and http://afrozigda.com/
