Join us for some art-related April activities during a full free day at the Blanton!
We’ll be open late until 9pm too, so there’s plenty of time to explore before refueling at our café with a slice of pizza & glass of wine for $5 (available after 5pm).

12:30pm-1:00pm ~ Public Tour: Form into Spirit: Ellsworth Kelly’s “Austin”
Explore Austin’s four main motifs: Spectrum, Black and White, Color Grid, and Totem, at this companion exhibition.
5:30-6:15pm ~ Beat the Rush: Performa/Dance
Skip the ATX traffic and experience this unique program for emerging artists. Performa/Dance will perform three dance works choreographed by the award-winning Jennifer Hart. This performance will take place inour atrium.
6-7pm ~ Art Activity in collaboration with Art From the Streets
Drop by for this informal art activity and meet some of the artists from the “Art from the Streets” community organization.
6:30-7:30pm ~ Perspectives: Clarissa Tossin
An exciting opportunity to hear artist Clarissa Tossin talk about her work “Meeting of Waters,” currently on view at the museum. This event will take place in our auditorium.
7:30-8:00pm ~ Slow Looking
Enjoy a thoughtful and relaxed 30-minute conversation about a single work of art on view at the museum, presented in collaboration withFusebox Festival 2018.
Don’t miss our current exhibition “Form into Spirit: Ellsworth Kelly’s ‘Austin'” which provides context to the monumental permanent installation now open to the public.
Museum admission is always free on Thursdays. On the third Thursday of each month, the museum remains open until 9 pm.
The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Paid parking is available in the Blanton/Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Parking is $4; bring your ticket with you to the front desk of the museum.
